Shocking referee performance Empty Shocking referee performance

Michael Katsidis gets out worked and out classed by Robert Guerrero in a entertaining fight but the main factor of the fight was the terrible referee decisions he made during the fight Guerrero hand touched the ground in the second but somehow the referee didn't see it and it wasn't classed as a knockdown. Then later on in the fight in the 8th when Katsidis hit Guerrero with a blistering body burst the referee takes TWO points of him for 'low blows' the first one was clearly low but he got a point taken of him without even a warning, madness. The second point he taken of him there wasn't even any low shots and then in the 10th he deducted a point of Guerrero when there wasn't even any clear low blows absolutely shocking but on the other hand very impressive peformance from Guerrero bossed him from start to finish and fight against Humberto Soto or Juan Man Marquez is likely to happen.

He was 10x as worse than Joe Cortez though he should never referee a fight again after that.

Kirkland should have been allowed to go on. He wasn't hurt and their was only a minute left in the round. Why was Kirkland at MW?

He did look shaky but if he's not hurt let him fight if he gets into trouble and looks like getting hurt you can always stop the fight.

"You could get a point deducted in the intro with this guy if your not careful"

Think that summed his performace up well.

You need to judge how hurt the fighter is and Kirklend looked a bit shaky but not hurt to badly. Look at the beating Khan took in the 10th round against Maidana a lot of refs would have stopped it but they would have been wrong because Khan won the last 2 rounds

And judging apart from Dave Moretti. Boxing officials are very poor in general.

So many are to quick to jump in and stop it. Don't want to see fighters getting hurt but to many jump in to soon

The referee in the Kats fight was a complete joke and shouldn't be allowed to referee such a high profile fight again, Guerrero was given a warning for a low blow early in the fight, and one later on before his point deduction, Kats was given no such luxury, what a tool, some referee's need to realise people tune in to watch the fighters, not them.

Kirklands eye's were clear at all times to me but there's no knowing if his legs were still beneath him, the ref could have had him rise and walk to him before making a decision although i don't think it would have been long before he was picking himself off the canvas again.

A great nights boxing overall.

The Kirkland fight should have been stopped in my view. The ref let him get up twice and each time he hadnt fully recovered and was sent back down again. He wasnt badly out of it a la Enzo Maccarinelli, but he couldnt defend himself properly and the Japanese guy just kept jumping on him with flurrys.

The ref in the Katsidas fight was poor. Whatever about missing the knockdown, which is just an error which he missed. But the conscience decision to deduct a point after no warning was poor. Katsidas was really tearing into him and then to deduct a second was just silly (even though one or two did stray low). I suppose you could say he was at least consistent as he duducted points off each. However I wonder how much it forced Katsidas to abandon the body attack or whether Katsidas just ran out of the steam needed to sustain it. Would be a shame if he had to stop fearing a DQ because he was having the best success with it.

I've noticed that Cortez stops a lot of fights early imo... But yeah the Referee in Guerrero and Katsidis fight was appalling in honesty me and my dad were like... WHO THE HELL IS THIS GUY?!

Cortez is a waste of space.

How many times does that joker have to mess up before he is kicked into touch? He has been doing it for years!

His worst blunder was Hatton Mayweater I was SCREAMING at the TV! STOP BREAKING THEM UP AS SOON AS THEY TOUCH EACH OTHER! It was like the only way Hatton could win even if he was being tied up half the fight if he was allowed inside for a little bit he could have used his inside boxing ability, also something I really do feel FMJ HATES!
