Who Does Serena Think She Is?

Who does Serena think she is? And maybe how dare she make herself stand out? Well that appears to be what Neil Harman of the Times appears to be saying with these "tweets" about the colour of her bandana. She has chosen to wear a pink bandana.

Someone should tell Neil that Serena is a multi slam winning all time great who would stand out whatever the colour of her bandana. Whilst they are at it they should also remind the Wimbledon organisers. Someone with such credentials and fashion sense should not be hidden away on court 2 as she was on Tuesday.

I would also like to add I think she looks great in her pink bandana.

Yeah it must be quite a shock when she comes up against an organisation or person in the tennis world that doesn't subscribe to the theory that there's one rule for her and one rule for the others. I suspect that so many years of the WTA treating her as an exception has made her head swim a bit.

She is a multi-slam winning Champion of enormous distinction, but she's taken great care to put into and take out of the game precisely what suits her to the great detriment of the WTA. That of course is her perogative, but the old adage of look after people on the way up because you might like to be treated well on the way down applies to her as much as to anyone else.

She usually has a white bandana at wimbledon so I expect she damaged it or can't find it. Screaming on court is a lot worse than attire.

Oh yeah, if Serena said she wanted a white bandana she'd have one in minutes.

She's just cocking a snook at the AELTC and seeing if they'll take the bait.

Neil Harman thought Serena's bandana was news worthy. I thought it interesting that a tennis journalist who follows the tour throughout the year felt it shocking enough to comment on.

Serena is of course an all time great but in my opinion doesn't always get the respect she deserves. Do we want champions to act like champions or should they not do anything that might make them stand out from the crowd? Serena unlike many others that have the opportunity to take the big stage knows how to use it. If I'm paying money to watch someone play tennis I would prefer to watch someone who understands that they are putting on a show and is capable of doing so.

I like the pink bandana and I like the fact that Serena wants to stand out from the crowd.

Perhaps Barry...seems ironic to be picking on Williams for the colour of her clothes rather than her skin which I'm sure she was more than used to in her youth...

The pink bandana is more news worthy than Maiisse beating Simon.

In fairness LF I did fancy Malisse. Has had some good results in the past at Wimbledon. Made the 3rd round in the last 2 years.

I do feel sorry for Harman though. Being plagiarised every day.
