Great fight and we learnt more about brook tonight

Brook looked very very tired and his defences abandoned him for large parts

Can't argue with those cards, had it 115-114 Brook myself.

Potentially ominous signs for Kell, though. He was getting caught far too much and really does need to sort that defence out.

Concerned for Brook as Carson just walked straight down the middle and brook was unable to hope. I think it's safe to say brook will never be world class level...

brook's chin and heart look ok, but stamina issues are real issue. He faded against hatton as well. It was like a re-run of khan peterson

Eddie is now terrified of putting Brook in with top talent. Ha, thinking about his $$$$$

Brook only turned up for the first 6 or 7 rounds. Can't afford to do that from now on. Against other opponents of Jones' stamina and durability he'll need to be 100% for 12 rounds.

Not wanting to take anything away from Jones but Brook clearly took his foot off the gas from the middle rounds onwards. Gave ground and shipped hard shots far too easily. Lessons to learn from tonight for the Brook camp.

Brook ain't ready to step up at this stage, needs to stick to European level and hopefully over the next 18 months than try to break into contention for a proper world title fight. It was great to see brook show so much heart tonight, didn't think he had it in him, fair play to the kid,

on a plus note, good to hear him ackowledge he was tired and needs to sort out his conditioning/nutrition... though if they know its an issue, might have been an idea to sort it out before the fight.

hope not he's too short for light middle.
with conditioning he'd be a much improved fighter but he took some punishment tonight and came through.

Interesting that they mentioned nutrition as a means of assisting his stamina. When I said that way back when, people laughed. Now that Brook and Hearn have said as much, perhaps some will realise that having steak and guiness pie isn't all that good for you as a pro fighter.

On the fight itself. This is exactly what Brook needed. He needed a gut check and passed. So what if he shipped punishment. He was fighting a good fighter. Step into a shower and expect to get wet. You cant simply blow away every opponent. Carson came to fight and was a confident fighter. Brook will benefit from this and if he steps into a world title fight I expect him to beat Bailey convincingly. He would have done the same to Mike Jones also.

Jones is a world level operator. Brook is more than ready now. He knows what he has to do and that he has the minerals when the going gets tough.

Too many are overly impressed with one sided wins and if it is not a blow out, then the guy's rubbish.

Brook shows guts/heart etc but what he lacked on occaion was ring smarts. Jones was able to sucker him in a couple of times and threw Brook off his game plan with a some nice use of the "dark arts"

Brook claimed he was going to be spiteful tonight and, to be fair, at times some of his combnation punching was beautiful. However it was Jones who was free with the shoulder, head and threw Brook around at will on occasion.

Always felt that to many UK fighters were unable to utilise some of the shadier aspects of the game and I think Brook was almost shocked at times.

Still he came through a tough test which, it seems was made all the tougher by a some pretty disappointing unprofessionalism from Brook's camp. Strange that in the biggest fight of his career, Brook appeared to have trained harder to face Matthew Hatton.

Give Carson some credit here. He wasn't a paid opponent. He came to win and expected to win. Of course he would give Brook some issues.

Carson is very experienced in the shady arts. Hopefully Brook will learn a thing or two. UK fighters can rough it up when the need arises. Hatton was no angel. Neither was Benn or even Naz.
