Fish 'O' Mania

The annual Fish'O'Mania is this weekend from the Cudmore Fisheries in Staffordshire its live on Skysports 2 on saturday 13th July from 12.00pm and is followed on sunday by the International Fish'O'Mania event aslo live on Skysports 2 .

This is probably the biggest event in UK fishing with the winner pocketing £30,000 of Barry Hearns money , last years winner Shane Atkins has qualified again for the event so will be defending his title .

A lot depends on which peg is drawn to your chances of winning , then its all down to the biggest weight caught with a seperate prize for the largest individual fish caught . Tactics come into it with each angler having to decide between going for one or two big fish or bagging up on the smaller skimmers or barbel .

I love this 6 or so hours of tv fishing each year so will be watching it .

i will try and give some updates as and when anything happens , the draw for the pegs before the fishing starts gives a good indication of who's got the best chance of winning but they are so close together that its hard to keep the fish in your swim .

Sorry there were no updates guys , but i didn't get to watch it live as my daughter was taken ill over the weekend .

The event was won by Warren Martin with a total weight of 30.67 kgs from a unfancied peg 4 .
