Fantasy European League™ Season 2 - Round 7 Empty Re: Fantasy European League™ Season 2 - Round 7

Post by Hodgey Wed 18 Jul 2012, 7:31 pm

Tottenham 1-0 Inter Milan
Balotelli

Spurs with Messi are a whole new outfit, and it is admirable that Pull managed to get the maestro without too much sacrifice. The Argentine can win games on his own and, although he had a massive impact, it was Balotelli who scored the only goal of the game after he jinked past his man and slotted past Cesar. Inter have made some changes and look better for it, but going forward they were frustrating and struggled to pose Ferdinand and Mexes any problems.

===

Man Utd 2-1 Chelsea
Benzema, Vidic
Gomez

Chelsea are a good side but United were too strong for them today. The hosts are neatly balanced and, although 4-4-2 may be too attacking against some sides, the midfield ensured that United did not over-commit and were flawless today. It was Wilshere's intricate pass into Benzema which allowed the Frenchman to open the scoring. Gomez quickly equalised with a cool finish of his own, but a powerful Vidic header restored United's lead and ultimately won them the game.

===

Bayern Munich 2-0 Dortmund
Sanchez, Silva

Guv has a formidable side here and one that will challenge for the top places this season. Dortmund, on the other hand, are second-best to Bayern in every department, sadly. The front-three Bayern have a devastating and can wreak havoc on any defence, and Dortmund were simply unable to cope. Sanchez opened the scoring after a neat exchange with Moutinho, before Silva doubled Bayern's advantage shortly after.

===

Arsenal 0-0 Real Madrid

Kamran employed an ultra-defensive line up at the Emirates, and Parker's deeper role reaped the rewards for his side as they frustrated Madrid for swathes of this game. The visitors have plenty of attacking talent, but Arsenal cancelled their threat out and smothered every chance they had in possession. Going forward, Arsenal are far from average but didn't receive enough of the ball to cause Madrid any noticeable problems.

Tottenham 1 - 1 Inter Milan
Messi ---------- Ramires

Spurs have Messi but gave up a lot to get him. It has left them a lot weaker centrally and Inter exploited this with Ramires particularly influential. Indeed he gave the visitors the lead, which they held until near the end when Messi gave what the Spurs fans wanted to see. Still only a point though.

Man Utd 1 - 1 Chelsea
Benzema ---- Gomez

Intriguing match between these two evenly matched aides. Utd were denied the services of new signing Ibrahimovic through injury and had he played they may well have gotten the win. As it was they had to settle for a point after Chelsea struck back through Gomez following the initial strike from Benzema.

Barcelona 2 - 1 Man City
RvP ----------- Rooney
Ronaldo

Tough opening encounter for new City boss but his side fought well but ultimately came up short. I do like what he has done. Selling Messi is a gamble but a good deal sees this City side looking strong. Barca were stronger today though.

Arsenal 0 - 1 Real Madrid
-------------- Pirlo

Hard on Arsenal who gave as good as they got but fell to a Pirlo free kick after an unnecessary foul was committed on the edge of the box. Real do edge this on overall quality and took the points by that similar small margin.

Spurs 1-0 Inter
Balotelli - A even game settled by a moment from the enigma that is super mario

Barcelona 1-1 Man City
Iniesta ----- Nasri

Barcelona open the scoring with a neat passing move leading to Andres Iniesta drifting inside of 2 players and placing the shot in the bottom corner, Barcelona played for time and in the 89th minute a mistake from a slipping over Terry let Nasri in for the equalizer

Bayern 2-0 Dortmund
Moutinho/Higuain

A dominate display from the Germans as dortmund struggle to contain Bayern's midfield 3, Moutinho opens the scoring with a long range screamer and Higuain raps the game up with a header in injury time

Arsenal 0-1 Real Madrid
Fabregas

A very close game with plenty of chances the created, the only came from the spot as Yaya Toure went rampaging through midfield but got taken out clumsily by Andre Santos in the box given away a pen, Fabregas steps up and rolls it in the bottom corner to give Madrid the win.

Tottenham 1 - 1 Inter Milan
You know who -- Sneijder

Inter gave Spurs a ran for their money and really deserved a point at least because they threatened so many times but couldnt get the win after that brave performance. Messi wasn't given any time on the ball as Toulalan and Ramires could have been mistaken for minders as they were that close to Messi all game. Tottenham did make good use for the space but found a stubborn defence. Sneijder scored a beauty of a strike but Messi could not be contained for 90mins as he left a few players and curled it far post for a point.
----
Barcelona 1 - 1 Man City
Ramos -------- Lahm

This game ended as the game of two great RB's who were equally brilliant going forward as well as defending. Lahm scored for the visitors as he surged forward and swapped passes with Ribery and he blasted it home from 20 yards. Barca responded immediately when Ramos found space past Alba when he darted forward and nutmegged Kompany before unleashing a shot that swerved viciously and gave the keeper no chance
---
Man Utd 0 - 0 Chelsea

This game billed up to be something special but in the end the attacking as pretty poor and as the sky cameras came close, it showed Chelsea Manager Gregers playing 'Angry Birds' on his iphone.
---
Bayern Munich 2 - 1 Borussia Dortmund
Higuain (2) ------------- Hazard

Bayern just edged this one with home crowd playing a big part inspiring the players to go forward. Higuain with two quality finishes in the first half. Dortmund werent afraid and Hazard flew past a few players before jinking i and firing low to pull one back. Hazard was unlucky not get on the scoresheet again as he rattled the bar. Munich held on for the win.

barca 1-1 mancity
iniesta
rooney

both equally well-matched teams with strong defenses. barca's defense more experienced while city's defence younger than barca in age but not in ability. barca got the first goal of the game when xavi and iniesta combined. xavi's thru ball was perfect for iniesta to run onto and smash home. mancity equalised after HT thru rooney's free kick. barca piled the pressure after mancity's goal but could not manage to break down the city defence.

manutd 0-2 chelsea
ozilx2

chelsea overpowered the united midfield today and got a deserved win. the two germans ozil and kroos combined for their first goal and it was ozil who also got the 2nd goal of the match when he was completely unmarked at the far post as chelsea countered at lightning speed. manunited were starting to open up in midfield as they attacked the game and that was what led to chelsea's second goal which killed the game for united.

bayern 1-0 dortmund
sanchez

bayern edged dortmund in a match which they should have won with ease. it was silva's pass for sanchez at the far post which the chilean nodded past the goalie in the latter stages of the second half. dortmund were disciplined but did not trouble bayern with their forwards missing some good chances which could have got them a point.

arsenal 0-0 real

arsenal got the point they wanted as they held off real for 90 minutes. the home side have enough firepower themselves but they shut up shop in this match and frustrated real madrid. arsenal were defending deep and in numbers throughout the match and real did not manage to find a way through the gunners defence. they went close on a few occasions but at all times found a red shirt blocking their way.

Spurs 1 - Inter 1
Messi - Ramires

Getting Messi in is unbelievable for pull and I have no idea how he pulled it off however it has unballanced his side. This gave Inter room to play in the middle and although Messi scored first Ramires ran the game and scored a cracker late on.

Barce 3 - City 0
Ronaldo x3

Barce are perfectly set up this week to neutralise the threat of City. In my opinion City were a far better side before signing and then selling Messi and their midfield was simply outplayed today with Khedira far too far back. Barce need to improve on Busquets but outside of that they were fantastic today.

Bayern 3 - Dortmund 2
Higs x2, Shwein - Hazard, Gotze

Much better from Dortmund this week but a late strike from the pig farmer broke their hearts. Twice they came from behind and twice they got back into it but Bayern were just that little bit better. Bull needs new fullbacks asap.

Arsenal 1 - Real 2
Mata - Aguero, Neymar

A great game that was close throughout but Real are just that little bit better throughout the team. Hero has taken what is already the best squad in the game, put his mark on it and made it even better. Kam on the other hand has built a great Arsenal squad but I think they could do with better fullbacks especially at left back and this was where the game was won for Madrid as Neymar terrorized Santos throughout.

Fantasy European League™ Season 2 - Round 7 Empty Re: Fantasy European League™ Season 2 - Round 7

Barca 1 - 1 City
Ronaldo : Khedira

Two class sides on show here. There would be a real battle in midfield with some fantastic trios for each side. Barca would have more possesion but would find it hard to penetrate with Kompany and Martinez shutting off runs and Khedira gobbling up balls like a hungry hippo. Hart yet again has a blinder and keeps out multiple efforts on target. I feel City's bench is stronger than Barca's and this told in the latter stages where they fought hard for a well earned draw.

United 2 - 2 Chelsea
Srna, Podolski : Gomez, Jelavic

Plenty of attacking prowess here. With all four full backs very attack minded, they fly forward and often leave their centre backs exposed. Gaps were emerging in both defences, allowing the attackers to get plenty of shots away. Chelsea's midfield is strong and compact and this makes life difficult for United, with Hernandez's tireless work off the ball often going unnoticed. A draw is a fair result.

Bayern 3 - 1 Dortmund
Higuain, Silva, Robben : Gotze

Strong line up from Bayern this week to show their German rivals who is number 1. The midfield has great balance and there is plenty of talent on the bench ready to make an impact. Dortmund are the same as they have been - work hard and have sprinkles of brilliance but not enough to sustain 90 mins or grab a win. Demoralising for the players!

Arsenal 0 - 0 Real Madrid

Not the most exciting line up from Arsenal and at home you might expect them to have a go at anyone. It worked well though, Parker worked his socks off the close down runs and shut off attacks. Mata threatened a couple of times but other than that Arsenal didn't really look like scoring and concentrated mainly on keeping the Spanish side from scoring. Goalless draw.
