Yes folks it's Jim White Day (or as its more commonly known as the day the transfer window shuts)

Please post below any transfers, rumours or simply funny tweets you see over the course of the day as every relation of a local taxi driver sees Messi arrive at a local airport heading to their club.

The Carroll deal was confirmed last night because Jim White's parents allowed an overexcited Jim White to open one transfer early.

In actual real news...

Charlie Adam is at Stoke for his medical ahead of a £5m move. This should free up a space for Liverpool to push for Dempsey.

Aston Villa have had a bit accepted for Dempsey, but not sure why he'd make the move. Only going backwards.

Van Der Vaart has gone apparently, to Hamburg.

Tottenham will end up signing Harry back just for the day so they can rebuild their squad.

Harry Redknapp can't resist getting in on the action with a deadline day swoop for Joe Cole. He sees Joe as a utility player at this stage in his career and his he can do a job in the garden and kitchen

Kieran Richardson completes move to Fulham. I think that's a decent move for Fulham, can cover left back and left wing, and I've always thought Richardson is underrated. A bit like Matty Ethrington, never a world beater but a decent option for midtable sides.

Still doesn't target the actual holes in the Fulham side in central midfield and up front.

£6.2 million pounds for Sinclair. Hardly the big-money player that Mancini wanted.

I actually think Swansea win with this deal. They get £6.2 million to put back into the squad. Sinclair will only rot on the bench for City.

I don't think City need any big-money players, haven't they just spent nearly £20 million on an unproven centre back?

Ryan Babel has had his contract terminated, wouldn't be surprised to see a Premier Club go for him.

A replacement for Scott Sinclair perhaps?

I always thought Babel was alright, not great, but a decent option.

Reports are gathering pace in France that Manchester City have opened talks with the France and Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila. The Brittany club recently told Tottenham they would not allow the highly-rated 22-year-old to leave for less than £12m.

It's weird how his price seems to have fluctuated so much, at the start of the window the price was £30 million, down to £20m and now £12m!

I expect Arsenal, Tottenham and City all to go for him. Newcastle fans will be happy as it keeps interest away from Tiote.

Danny Rose has moved to Sunderland on loan. Pretty much a like for like for Kieran Richardson, a player who can play at either left back or left wing. Not sure I rate Rose that highly though, seems he's all pace, no substance.

French football expert Matt Spiro: "L'Equipe are reporting on their website that a transfer fee of around £9.5m, plus a further £2m to £3m to be paid in bonuses, has been agreed between Tottenham and Lyon for Hugo Lloris. Lyon will have to give 25 percent of the fee to Lloris' first club OGC Nice."

Be a fantastic deal for Spurs if true.

Feel sorry for Brad Friedel though. Managed to secure a first team spot at a top 4 Premier League side at 40 only to be dumped after a season.

I wonder if he'll try and get football somewhere else now.

Nastasic is better than Lescott as well (by a long way), could see him being a starter for them very soon

I think City selling De Jong is a mistake. When he was on the field it freed up Toure to be at his most destructive.

Yaya Toure was always handcuffed but with Rodwell & Javi Garcia he will be given licence to do what he does best. Can see Gareth Barry's days at City and in an England shirt being numbered now.

No chance as we don't need the money, he's happy and we lost out on Carroll.

Michel Bastos to Fulham......where's that come from? Why is Fulham suddenly becoming so attractive, he's a quality player

Couldn't believe it when I read 'Fulham agree fee to sign Michel Bastos from Lyon'. His stock must have fallen at the club. Wasn't long ago he was starting for Brazil and looking a decent player. Although money talks after that Dembele deal and London is a very nice destination to say the least.
