Do the 49ers have a problem handling the pressure of being favourites? After two dominate wins against the Packers and the Lions they are struggling against the Vikings. Similarly after beating the Saints in the play offs last year they struggled to move the ball up field when favourites against the Giants.

Disappointing to see the 49ers lose but sometimes it can show players how they can't take their foot of the gas.

The 49ers Defense is definitely better than last year. Regardless of statistics, the secondary is much improved and it's the same 11 players from last year. They looked slow today but they had games like that last year too. Their Run D and pass rush is the same as last year, but their pass defense is much better.

I don't think this loss has anything to do with Smith, he has picked up his game and really doesn't have to prove he is 'the man' anymore, just look at his last 10 games

happy he threw the pick, sounds silly but its the same as when the defense gave up their first rushing td last season. It just seems like records like that can lead to conservative play. The team was way too passive and still could have gotten the win. If Akers never missed the fg, Moss didnt drop a gamechanging pass, and Whitner never dropped a gift of a pick, who knows?

The NFC has once again proven how tough a division it is. Forget the time difference or bad field, the 49ers D better get back to form next week
