First topic message reminder :

If you wish to release a player, post the name of the player/players in the comments section below.

You will receive half of the player's www.transfermarkt.co.uk value, and can add the release fee to your budget. No discussion will be entered into over the given release values.

You are allowed to enquire about a maximum of four players a day, but no-one really follows the rules anyway so don't worry about it.

You must confirm the release on both the Releases page itself, AND IN THE TRANSFER CONFIRMATION PAGE! The below is an example of an enquiry and how to confirm a release:

And then copy and paste your accepted releases into the transfer confirmation page, before taking the player out of your squad and adding the release fee to your budget. Releases count as transfers so please keep your squad updated.

Players that have been released can be signed at any time by any manager other than the manager who released him. Any player that is released cannot be repurchased from releases by the same club until the following season. You must also confirm transfers here and on the Transfer Confirmation Page.

If you sign a player from releases, and then re-release them, you will only get half the value that you paid to get them from releases initially. For example, Matt Tubbs was releases for £250k, you can sign him for £250k but if you ever re-release him you would only get £125k for him. Confirm any player signed from releases in the Transfer Confirmation page.

That player will then go back onto the releases list at the first release price.

If you'd offered me Fischer for £1.5m, £2m or even £3m, I'd have given it to you. Afro bought him off here before I realised.

Same for Eliseu - he's a £5m LB really, someone on here would have given you his TM value at least.

Releasing two well-known and good value players for half their already good value didn't really make sense.

Then you claimed no-one had made an offer, but if you'd made it known you were looking to sell them, you'd have gotten more money.

I don't think dodgy is the right term. Ill-advised, hasty, plonkery. They are more accurate.

Dodgy suggests CF did something wrong, which I'm sure isn't the case.

If that's not the done thing, I should point out that I scratched off £65,000 off my transfer budget earlier in the season (shown on my page), so if you add that to the release fee, it's £502,500

I do try to update the released players to half of their new value, but it's whatever is on this list.

Got to think about this as I want to avoid anyone being able to make a profit by buying a released player and then releasing him straight away.

Marky - I think the options are 1) your release price is half of what you paid or 2) the price to buy from releases is half their current TM value.

I would say the second is easier for you to track

I've always done it where when I get a chance, I update the released players' values.

Like everything else in this league, if players' values go up and down, the buyer gets the benefit.

Have updated the list and a few players are cheaper than they were before to buy. In general, no-one on the list is there because they're valuable, so it's unlikely their value will go up while in releases.
