Cant argue with those HMM.

General:
1) "youngster" under 22 to break into top 10
2) some surfaces to get sped up
3) better prize money for the lower ranked players (e.g. on Challengers)

Specific:
1) Rafa to win slam outside RG
2) Federer to win Wimb/USO and bow out at the top (think that would be best for him really before returning to retire at Basel)
3) Goffin to break top 20 (isnt gonna happen though...)

1) More variety in court speeds throughout the year
2) Top four remain healthy and competitive, particularly Nadal and Federer respectively
3) Further discussion and transparency about the possibility of doping in tennis (not intending to sully the tone of the thread!)

But would agree with a lot of others as well.

1. Federer wins the Grand Slam playing really aggressive tennis.
2. Djokovic & Nadal break the Isner/Mahut record in the RG semi-final and keep Federer waiting two more days for the Final.
3. Tiriac buys RG and lays smurf clay to call Nadal/Djokovic's bluff.

1) more variety in the game with a return to more serve & volleying (wishful thinking indeed)

2) stricter adherence to the 20 secs between points for when you-know-who returns

3) the media in the UK to finally realise tennis is a 10 - 11 month all yar round activity rather than just concenrating on Wimbledon

Very Happy Stricter adherence to the 20 secs between points even if you-know-who doesnt return Wink

2. Towels to be placed on hat-racks at the back of the court
3. A one-off wooden racket charity event

Ha ha! Some of you people are asking for the imposable. How can you wish for Nadal to be back at full strength AND also wish for Djokovic to win RG or Federer to win a grand slam or Murray to win Wimbledon? If Nadal is back at full strength none of the other events can happen. Pfft!

My wishes are

1) Nadal to be back at full strength
2) Nadal and Federer to be at opposite sides of the draw for all slams
3) Nadal and Federer to play in all 4 slam finals

I don't mind who wins and I don't have to waste a wish asking for the finals to be high quality because with these two players I'm sure they would be.

1) Wawrinka to tell everyone how well he really gets on with Federer.

2) The end of "trademark celebrations" - no more trophy biting, pointing at one's back etc. Let's leave that to football.

3) Sue Barker to say something that suggests that maybe she has done some research, forethought or watched any tennis in the last few years.

I have to add that this:
bogbrush wrote:Tiriac buys RG and lays smurf clay to call Nadal/Djokovic's bluff.
and this:
JuliusHMarx wrote:Towels to be placed on hat-racks at the back of the court
are both blooming marvellous!

1) Murray wins the Grand Slam, triple bagelling Nadal in the final of the FO in the process.
2) Laura Robson gets into the Top 10 of the women's game
3) Daveed beats Federer.

Cant see those 3 happening TSJ! (maybe #2)
Re: "smurf" clay, I dont think they they mind faster clay (Rome is quick)...just clay you can stand up on! Not smurf so much as Teflon!
It'll be interesting to see what happens at Madrid next year.

Towels on hatpegs, haha...completely agree!
If I was a ballboy with a towel being nonchalantly flung my way I'd say "you can put your own greasy, smelly towel with gobbets of saliva away!". Pure filth.

3 secrets to be revealed:
1. Who does Federer hate most on tour?
2. Which player wanted to punch Becker the most in the 80s?
3. How many WTA women has Stepanek really been out with?

1. Hmmm tough one. I reckon it's one of his fellow big four members.
2. Lendl. He probably wanted to punch anyone.
3. None. Who'd go out with that fish-faced monster?

Well .... in case you'd forgotten (and surprising though it seems.....), the lovely Swiss Miss did.

More surprising still, she even got engaged to him.

I don't tend to read the gossip. I can't say I'm overly interested in many tennis players private lives, unless it's revealed Federer eats puppies.

I reckon it's a toss-up between the list of WTA players Stepanek has "been with" and the list of men Hingis has "been with" - they were bound to find one another.
