Elementary
Bit behind the times, but has anyone been watching this? Recorded the first ten and as of last night started making my way through them. Really enjoyed the first three and think Johnny Lee Miller is excellent.

I'm really enjoying this , it's very different to Sherlock on the beeb . And i agree Miller is very good in the role , although im not won over with Lucy Lu as Watson yet

Yeah she hasn't convinced me yet either. I know that House was based on Sherlock Holmes but to me it seems like Miller has been influenced by Hugh Laurie's performance.

Re: Elementary
Yes i can see that , Miller has on the odd occasion tried to be too quirky i think but i suppose thats to do with building the character .
Read that they have commissioned a full 24 episode 1st season

Re: Elementary
watched the first episode this evening. Thought it was pretty good, but there were a couple of things which kind of annoyed me:
1) Both Sherlock and the Police inspector have a tendency to mumble somewhat at times, which makes them very difficult to understand. Was watching it with a friend who, though not a native English speaker, usually understands English shows pretty well, and he rather struggled with it.
2) Unlike Kenny, I think it's quite similar to the BBC version, and at times too close IMO. Now I get that given they're written with the same idea in mind (Sherlock in modern times), but still, think it's a shame.
Despite these problems, I enjoyed it, and will watch a few more episodes at least, but IMO it's not nearly as good as the BBC series (then again, that was one of the best things I've seen for a long time).
