Potential David Price Interview
Morning all
As you know Adam has been working tirelessly to get the podcast up and running and has already secured us some decent names to take part. However within the next few days we have been able to secure an interview with David Price. As this is not going to be a face to face interview we will have to go in with set questions rather than react on the spot.
Given this we thought we would throw it open to you lot to put forward any questions you wish. However could I ask that this comes with the caveat that Price does not have to do this interview and is sure as hell not being paid for it so try and keep your questions respectful, am not saying you have to avoid any subjects but if you do want to ask something a little controversial spend five minutes to think how you word it because if the tone is wrong or aggressive it won’t get asked and will probably get deleted off this thread so is something of a waste of time all round.
Also please bear in mind none of you are as funny as you think you are (except John Bloody Wayne he is hilarious) so please resist the temptation to bombard the thread with comedy zingers.
Other than that feel free to ask what you want.

Re: Potential David Price Interview
How long do you believe it will be until you will be fighting for world title honours?
Have you been dissappointed with how easily you have blown away your competition? In terms of your opponents not really representing enoguh challenges?
The fight with Fury, has it simply not happened due to TV Company deals, or do you believe that Fury genuinely ducking you to get an easy route to a world title fight?
Can't wait for JBW's questions!

You've not had to go beyond round 4 in your last 7 fights and your longest fight lasted 7 rounds. As you get closer to challenging at the top of the division, what are you doing to build up stamina and make sure that you can maintain your form through the championship rounds?

Possibly by getting a gillette to get rid of it?

That's a bit too eagle-eyed for this time of morning, Alex. Now corrected.

Re: Potential David Price Interview
Both yourself and Fury have said in the past you would be happy to fight each other. Has the fact the fight hasn’t come off a matter of just boxing business and building a fight for the future between your two promoters or do you feel they are not interested in risking a loss that could damge a world title shot bid?
How much control do you exercise over your career? Are you happy to leave it in the hands of your promoter for selecting fights and just focus on your training etc or do you have a strong say in who your next opponent will be?
Are there any fights in particular you would like at the moment?
You mentioned recently you would hope to be fighting for a world title within 5 fights. As its looking unlikely Vitali Klitschko will still be around in that time frame is your plan to put yourself in position for Vitalis WBC title assuming it becomes vacant or won by someone else in the next 12 months or is the plan to target Wlad Klitschko? Would you have a preference?

Given that Heavyweights can generally go on for longer and tend to peak at a later age, were you ever tempted to prolong your amateur career for another four years and try to turn your bronze medal from Beijing in to a gold one in front of your home fans four years later?
There's been a good crop of boxers emerging from Liverpool in recent years; yourself, the Smith brothers, Tony Bellew etc. Is there any friendly rivalry between you all to get to a world title first? How far do you think your fellow Scousers can go?
Who was your boxing hero as a youngster, or which fighter played the biggest role in you getting in to the sport?

As a kid, you apparently preferred football to boxing. Is that still the case? Looking at what you have and where you are, would you swap it all to have had a chance of playing football professionally?
What does being a club patron of AFC Liverpool involve?
Wlad calls you. He offers you a shot at the titles. All of them. But the fight has to be at Goodison Park. What do you say?

That is a brilliant question!
Re: Potential David Price Interview
It has been alluded to that your chin is suspect after your fight with Cammarelle in the Olympics, yet no evidence has come through of that so far in your fights in the pro ranks. What would be your response to those who don't believe you can't take a shot?

Re: Potential David Price Interview
If Wlad called you tomorrow and offered you a title shot there and then, no numerous rematch stipulations etc, would you turn it down citing a need for more experience or jump at the chance to test yourself against the world champion knowing that you have the tools at your disposal to give yourself an excellent chance?
If you won a World title before Fury, would you give him a shot at your belt or wait for him to pick up a strap and look to secure a unification fight?
Should Rodgers start with Sturridge up front and Suarez in behind or persist with one man up front? Will BR be given time to build a team or will he be shown the door at the end of the season?

Do you really believe Fury has been ducking you as in the past he has proved to have very little defensive skills this doesn't seem very likely.

Did you have sign any confidentiality clauses when sparring with David Haye, if not had did the sessions go?
From a prestige POV which title would you like to win most or is it more important to beat the man considered the best in the world?
Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Wlad Vitali were the best of your weight class in the last 20 years. How would you rate them in order of greatness and most difficult if you had to fight them?

If we were paying for it then it probably wouldn't be a big issue, but he's doing it for free, annoy him and we probably lose any future interviews or press passes for his shows. The only outcome I can see from that question is Frank throwing out the "well they've rejected our two latest offers" response.

Was the John Mcdermott that you faced any different to the one that Fury fought?
....Or was it the same Big John McDermott and you simply out performed Fury?

It's ok Hampo, Az would rather we interview Tyson Fury instead. I could only imagine the intellectual conversation we would get from that 'stiff idiot'.
Question - Who does he rate as the Worlds P4P currently and who does he think is the greatest boxer to ever enter the ring.

I understand you probably feel some sought of allegiance to Haye from your amateur days, however, being as impartial as possible, had the Chis-Haye fight gone beyond 6 how do you see the remainder of the fight unfolding?

When we prepare to fight someone it's nice to latch onto a perceived weakness that an opponent might have and pay particular attention to it during camp.
In your opinion, how do you think the coaches' of you opponents' prepare their charges to fight you? Do they, rightly or wrongly, perceive a weakness in your game and try to exploit it?

I'd rather you do as I suggested in the original thread and take a few minutes to phrase the question in a less confrontational or critical manner, others have done re his chin, if you lack the capacity to work out how to go about this I'm sure one of those will help you along if you ask them nicely.

Also just for any of the guests in future I'd like to know their thoughts on drugs in boxing. How should they be tested, the frequency, testing around fights and the punishment if caught juicing?

Re: Potential David Price Interview
OK, you've awakened me.
So far all your opponents have gone down easier than Suarez in the penalty area, how much of this is down to being physically over powered in the ring, and how much is due to them freezing due to intimidation?
My girlfriend climbed into a tree, went up too high and is refusing to come down because she's scared of heights, could you come around and lift her out please? I'm in sri lanka right now and my girlfriend doesn't speak English, but she has a similar accent to you.
What language do you speak anyway?
It is Muhammad Ali's birthday today (18/01/13) how would you deal with him if you were to face him in his prime?
Frank Warren v Frank Maloney, 15 rounds, bare knuckle. Who wins?
How handsome would you say Ronald Mcintosh is on a scale of one to four billion?
There have been some stiff breezes around lately, are you allowed to leave the house without wearing a headguard?
When you going running, do you clip your ears back for improved aerodynamics, then let them flip out when you want to slow down like some kind of winged drag racer? Please don't hurt me or my loved ones.
If you could knock out one fighter in history, who would it be?
Is it difficult finding a mate sturdy enough to cuddle without turning them into a used toothpaste tube?
Tyson Fury dueted with Kevin Johnson, what sort of weird, funky, homoerotic sh!t are you gonna do with Tony Thompson to compete with that??
Do you think I'm cool?
If you could remove all the alphabet governing bodies apart from one, which would you spare, good sir?
Have you ever found yourself in an argument with a wily South African (probably saying something about snow infact being green) only for it to end abruptly when he accidentally wafted his hand too enthusiastically and knocked you out cold for several minutes?
I like you.
Haye v Vitali right now. Who wins?
Gorilla Jones vs George Benton, 15 rounds, who wins?
Do you think my son is pretty? here's a picture:
Are you waingro?
Seth Mitchell, Deontat Wilder, Bill Cosby, Tyson Fury, Mike Perez and Vyacheslav Glazkov. Could you please rank these fighters in order of who you think will go furthest in their careers?
I accidentally tripped up an old lady in 1997 and laugh every time I think about it, what's wrong with me?
Who has the best jab in heavyweight history in your opinion?
Do you think heavyweight boxing would get more exposure in the UK with someone as outspoken as Tyson Fury at the top of the pile rather than a more respectful character like yourself?
You are on a desert island and are only allowed to take five fights from history with you (and a TV and DVD player I guess) which do you take, man?
My cat's sat on my phone and I think she's texting people with her butt muscles what should I do?
What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
