He doesn't seem as agressive as I would've expected but maybe I'm expecting to much after such a layoff. What do you guys think?

He will be great he is Nadal if he regains a significant portion of his mobility he will still be a great of the game.

I think you are expecting too much.. after the amount of time he has had away from the courts it was hardly surprising that his first singles match would be tentative and nervous. He is even under normal circumstances a notoriously slow starter so the first half the the first set was not a good indicator. Overall I thought he performed well and he will continue to get better as he regains his confidence. But he is Nadal and he will always give 100%

On 2nd thoughts I may have been a bit too harsh on the guy.

I don't think he will right off the bat be as good as he was but I feel Nadal has another run of strong form in front of him. It will take time but I would be surprised if by the end of they year he wasn't playing and keeping up with the very best in the game.

His serve looked to have more pop in my opinion, I think he's been working a lot on that. Movement looked good and still has that killer FH. Plus he beat a talented up comer 6-3 6-2... It's not like it took him 3 close sets to do the job is it. What do people want from him, 2 bagels in his first match back?!
