606v2 Youtube Channel

First topic message reminder :

Hello all.

606v2 now has it's own Youtube Channel.
https://www.youtube.com/user/606v2

This is a place for all of you to store your favourite Youtube sporting clips and keep them in one place for quick easy access.
There are several playlists set up with videos stored in each section.
The channel is defaulted to 'player view'. If you switch to the 'grid view' option it will open up the playlists showing all the clips in that section on a bigger page.

To have an existing Youtube clip added to the channel just pop the link on this thread and it will be added.
And if you have your own Youtube channel by all means subscribe to the 606v2 channel to stay up to date with new clips and news.

Im sure we will all enjoy viewing everyones favourite clips and debate about them on 606v2.

You know Windy it was your article on Joe louis's trainer, the one where you bring up each fight where he needed to work on new things or just tweek things to make Louis the fighter he became, that really got me interested in checking him & a few other oldies. Even though it was along article I read it all & found it fascinating! Generally I've been interested in fighters from my era, early 80's onwards although I dont get to see as much anymore. One of my 1st memories is watching Hagler vs Minter with the whole family & Larry Holmes, probably my 2 favorite fighters. I've always been more of a watcher of boxing than reader, magazines aside.

It's interesting to see how we all first took an interest in boxing isn't it, sohotnot ?

I owe it all to Ali, or Clay as he was at the time. His was such a huge personality that when he came to Britain to fight Cooper in 1963 just about everybody, man woman or child, was caught up in the event. I watched the fight with my dad, although I can't say I remember seeing it. The first one I DO remember seeing was his first fight with Liston the following year, and from there on in I was absolutely hooked.

An uncle had a huge collection of ' Ring ' magazines which he passed on to me, ( and which my father would later confiscate when he was dissatisfied with my performance in school, ) and also some old fights on reel to reel. In those days it was still politically correct to see books about boxing in school libraries, and I vividly remember reading my first one, which was simply entitled ' Boxing History ' and carried a cover picture of Walcott knocking down Marciano.

That was the best part of fifty years ago, and I'm still as enthusiastic in my love of boxing history today, and all because Clay fought Cooper.

I used to use the "hobo 3:16" in my 6WF days all the time (going back 3.5 years ago!)
