Unfortunately there were ties in two positions and i didn't just want to pick my preference so just left it as it was.
Thanks for everyone for voting and to Hero for doing the first half of the team.

It will be interesting to see how the team changes by this time next year, cheers guys.

Took us till March 7th

Bale you would think is a dead cert for next year given his form right now. Iniesta should be in ahead of Pirlo. People get a bit overexcited about his wc performances.

There wasn't a world cup last year

I think it's his excellent performance for Juve in which they lost only a couple of domestic games in the calendar year which helps too.

Pirlo was almost faultless at last summer’s Euro's, a calming yet creative influence in the centre of midfield, that really emphasised England’s failings in that position despite the industry of Parker and Gerrard.

Pirlo wouldn't be in my team of the year however his performances at Euro 2012 were a joy to behold.

I'd drop Mata and put Messi in that position.

Falcao as the centre foward.

That would be it for me. Messi's not an up top striker, prefers losing his markers and coming deep to interlink with midfield and set up the attacks, therefore Falcao for me.
