Smackdown Spoilers 3/5/11

SmackDown, Airing Friday:

* World Champion Christian comes out to open the show. He talks about winning at Extreme Rules and out comes Mark Henry then Randy Orton and The Great Khali wanting title shots. Teddy Long comes out and lets the fans vote and they choose Christian vs. Orton.

* The Great Khali is backstage talking to Jinder Mahal.

* Sheamus defeats Daniel Bryan.

* We see Layla backstage with the Divas.

* Cody Rhodes comes out for an in-ring segment and his employees pass out more paper bags to the fans.

* Ezekiel Jackson beat Big Show with help from The Corre. Kane was also taken out by Corre members.

* Layla beat Alicia Fox. Kharma came down and hit the Implant Buster on Alicia.

* More problems between The Corre backstage.

* Sin Cara defeated Tyson Kidd with Chavo Guerrero on commentary.

* Backstage segment with Teddy Long talking about the main event.

* Randy Orton beat Christian to become the new World Heavyweight Champion in what was described as a great match. Orton celebrated after the win.

It's official. VKM is the worlds biggest kumquat.

Yay Orton *snore*. Seriously what wad the point in giving Christian the title?

that did not last long

I was hoping Christian would at least a month spell as World Heavyweight champion not just a few days.

So I was kinda right that they gave him the win as a token gesture...his mate retired and they wanted to keep the title on that show.

You could see how much it meant to Christian....Edge even had genuine tears in his eyes while they were celebrating. All of that emotion meant nothing. Just a means to an end.

a load of drivle . i like orton , i may be the only one one here! , but come on Vince! at least give Christian a months regin , you could just see at ER , he was genuinley happy to be a 1 time World Champ in WWE.

I was looking forward to start watching Smackdown again as Christian is champ...would have been a breath of fresh air.........but not anymore....disgusted

What can they be thinking? I mean honestly, how on earth can they believe that it's a good idea for Christian to drop the World title so soon after winning it? And on Smackdown no less. What, he's not good enough to drop it at a pay per view? Did they not hear the response Christian got on Sunday? Did they not see him have the best match on the card?

WWE have taken a genuine, well deserved feel-good moment and beaten everyone around the head with it, then Vince has shat on everybody.

If this turns into Randy Orton v Mark Henry I swear to fiddygiddy.............

Apparently Orton came out after the show to 'remind' everyone that when they went home he was the new World Champion, which is a bit heelish, given that people were still chanting for Christian.

Agree with you Mr H, i'd ask for my release if i was Christian.

I just hope that Orton goes heel and the WWE realise that the only option they have is to continue with Christian as SDs No.1 face. But the horrible thing is that they will probably just bring back Batista as a face or some other roody poo like that.

I'm not happy - any more details on the match? Did Orton go over him clean or was it a screwy finish that could lead to a rematch at OTL or will his reign be quickly and quietly forgotten now?

At least we know now that he could become champ again...COULD.

Little annoyed though, i thought it would be great with Christian as champ for at least a month like already mentioned before.

That moment that he won it was still a mark out moment though!

I guess this is all to do with ratings though and Orton with the title is probably how Vince feels will work best but i think that Christian could of done it easily.

Does anyone think this is Orton directly replacing Edge, as in the original plans were for Edge to beat Del Rio at ER anyway?

I think that Del Rio may of picked up the title off Edge, who knows but i wanna know what Del Rio has in store for him on RAW.

Orton was probably made champ because of how popular he is (i'm not saying Christian isn't) but Vince must trust in him and it's been said before that Vince does not beleive Christian to be a credible champion and he thinks he can rely on Orton. I agree they could of kept him champ for at least a month.

the formatting of my quote was rubbish but I was joking that TNA stars usually start a show as a heel, turn face by the middle, then back to heel and then back to face before the show ends. I was taking a sideways swipe at my favourite wrestling product.

Again, it's hard to tell though, reports say Christian looked pretty dejected in the ring when the fans were chanting his name so that means that he either....

A) Got injured and knew he would have to drop the title after getting it.

B) Can't beleive Vinnie Mac has futt bucked him.

Miky while you are right that he could win it again....look how long it took them to put the strap back on Kane. He won it...lost it the next night and then had to wait years for another run.
