'606 freinds'
I appreciate this has been suggested before but...
How about the 606 southern pansies meet up for an earl grey and the 606 northern monkeys meet up for a mug of coffee.
Dump the lets meet up at a boxing event idea......it costs too much money and excludes some folk.
Simply pick a date and venue via a democracy, and drink!
oh, and tell your loved ones where you are..... just incase!

I don't see why not. Thankfully it's the southern pooftas whose accents I can understand. This north of watford accent is not even English....like that bint from X-Factor married to Cashley.

I don't know what this means, it may as well be cling on.

Re: '606 freinds'
I'd fall into the earl grey bracket though Mackem and one sip of that gunk could very well tip me over the edge and all hell could break loose. I was dragged up to believe that pansies drink tea.
It's a great idea but I think you need to adjust your strategy a tad. Perhaps the V2 masses could have one big meet-up and share opinions on ice poles? It'd be a winner during peak summertime.

I'm bad with accents. The newcastle accent is simply another language to me.

Re: '606 freinds'
Me living in Lincolnshire means i'd gladly meet up with 606's from North and South of Watford.
To be honest I find it interesting to see how many people actually respond to posts like this?
Why do people not respond?????
is it they are....
An anti-social special who likes to converse in text only?
A person who's real life persona does not live up to an online mask?
A keyboard coward who likes to diss without consequence?
Or do they simply have better things to do than meet up with real people and would rather converse with virtual beings?

In all seriousness has there never been a meet up within the boxing lot on here?
I'm sure the rugby lot have regular meet ups.
Circumstances dictate I suppose.

It'll never happen. Getting people to travel hundreds of miles for a few pints won't happen.
Where would the meeting point be out of interest. Newcastle or Durham and I'd consider it.

Probably a snippet of truth in that statement Az. I went to a Harlequins match a few years ago. Never again. It was another world.
It didn't help that 3 of my party were coked up to their eye balls but still.

As I've said before, if I told Mrs Superfly that I was off to meet a load of people I'd met on the internet, she'd think i had been on match.com and was off to meet a 40 year old stunner. The divorce papers would be awaiting my return.

Although I love to read about all the boxing news and debates, for me personally I would have no problem meeting anybody on here, but I would feel my knowledge would be limited and therefore my opinions kinda discredited. This would be a reason I properly wouldn't go.

Did you spell friends wrong?
I'm up for meeting up if no one tries to throw down. Because that would not go well for them.

I agree with this. Although I follow Boxing relatively closely, I am pretty much a novice compared to some of the Boxing Brains on here and I would likely feel out of my depth.
Plus I don't drink tea or coffee

Haha! Funny. I'd meet up on the pretence that the above happens.
Emore vs Truss.
I'm going for Emore UD.
I'd meet up. I'm in Telford but moving back to Stoke on Trent in next couple months. Anyone close?!

Re: '606 freinds'
My missus trusts me, I wouldn't be expecting anyone to try to beat me up or aggressively challenge my boxing knowledge hence I would have no impediment to meeting up with the 606'ers.
If would be a good guessing game to put faces to usernames for real.
It never happens but some day it will if the same people keeping chatting together for another 5 or 10 years.
Other boxing sites have meet ups at the big fights and at Christmas.

Emore by devastating KO of epic proportions.
I go to Yale University and on the weekends travel to Cambridge University via private jet to give speeches on speeches about how to give speeches. How to inspire.

In the unlikely event that any of you found yourselves out here, let me know and I'd meet you for a Tsingtao.
No boxing talk though. Seriously, the idea of taking the trouble of meeting someone you 'know' from a boxing board and then actually talking about boxing seems (perhaps counterintuitively) daft.
Also, I don't know much about boxing and couldn't keep going to the bathroom to google stuff.

It's a good point, IG. The idea of meeting anyone socially to talk about a specific subject is an odd one.

Re: '606 freinds'
id be up for it but surely meeting at a big fight would be better, as people go to the boxing anyways. i rarely leave the house if its not for work or uni or to go boxing.
i am ashamed to say im not going to khans fight in sheffield tonight despite living 20 mins walk away, but i try to get to fights when i can, and find only 1-2 of my mates will travel to see a fight, so if a group of us were going i'd definetly meet up.

Unless meeting at a fight, I just think boxing would be the last thing on my mind really. If I wanted to know your opinion on Chris Eubank Jr, I'd ask you on here. They say 'debate the post, not the poster'. If meeting in person, I'd like to think it would be the reverse.
Probably with 'debate' replaced by 'chat about'.
Either way, I'd be meeting someone because they seem like an alright bloke, not because they know loads about a sport.
