2014 NFL Draft WatchList
So now that we are just after the 2013 Draft, anyone you think people should check out this coming season? I know not many on here are college buffs but could be nice starting point. Not much football for a while so posting highlights and opinions here might help meet your fix. I'll be missing out the obvious ones like Clowney, Tajh Boyd, Marqise Lee, Sammy Watkins, Teddy Bridgewater, Manziel etc. No offensive lineman too, I know them all but would feel guilty focusing on a position I dont scout much. Obviously Taylor Lewan, Jake Matthews Cyrus Kouandjio, Tiny Richardson etc are the ones.
I'll add my thoughts. No order.
1. Ife Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon
Love the guy, he is a ballhawk and incredibly physical. You look for a certain attitude in cb's and he brings that confidence you always see in a top talent. Only 5'10/5'11' but plays non stop and I think can be first rounder.

2. Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
Another CB! It is my favourite position so I love to focus on them. Coming off surgery, Verett will be one of the best corners in nation on a usually stout TCU D. Very smooth and not quite as flashy as guys like Olomu but nobody will be throwing his way.

3. Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon
Just an athletic specimen really, very versatile, runs very fast and I think Oregon does not utilise him near enough

4. Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU
My bold claim is that he is better than Michael Brockers. Really disruptive and will be much more focus on him with the star DE's and Bennie Logan gone.

5. Will Sutton, DT, Arizona St
Weird looking player who imo should have been in Heisman contention brring injury. Terrifying inside rusher and should scoop all PAC-12 defensive lineman awards again.

6. Louis Nix III, NT, Notre Dame
Absolute Beast, best nose tackle in college I've seen since Phil Taylor.

7. Adrian Hubbard, OLB, Alabama
Perfect fit at 3-4 OLB and one of the most natural pass rushers around imo. He stood out more than any other defensive player on the team bar Milliner last year to me.

8. Kony Ealy, LB/DE, Missouri
This guy has been compared to Aldon Smith and whilst that might not be accurate, the NFL value Missouri's defensive stars.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrHv9_tMgz8
9. Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio St
Guy has body you look for in lb and pops up everywhere. Need to watch him.

10. Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio St
Simply the best CB in college football now
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUGaATkrpCQ
11. Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan ST
Saw a lot of him this year and will be valuable player for any team that covet press guys.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlAel9DpotA
12. Christian Jones, LB/ Timmy Jernigan, DT/LaMarcus Joyner, S/CB, All Florida St
Jones is a smallish OLB who has good length and is a tackling machine. Jernigan should be a high first round selection, way too talented and will make a step up surely now. Joyner is one of the funnest players in college football to watch and will be Mathieu like in that his size will hold him back but talent shoudn't.

13. Lache Seastrunk
Ridiculous name but ridiculous skills. Has already said Heisma is his and I don't blame him. Has speed and moves that few rb's are lucky enough to have.

"I'll be missing out the obvious ones like Clowney, Tajh Boyd, Marqise Lee, Sammy Watkins, Teddy Bridgewater, Manziel, Taylor Lewan, Jake Matthews" Well you just listed pretty much all the ones I've heard of... Do LSU have any players left or did they all leave?

Re: 2014 NFL Draft WatchList
Only big time draft prospect LSU might have is the DT Anthony Johnson I listed above. Other than that they have Jeremy Hill who is a decent) and the WR's Landry and Beckham but they aren't exactly the elite talents you are used to seeing LSU produce. They have Jalen Mills who is incredible but is only a sophomore this coming season.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft WatchList
Austin Seferian-Jenkins (TE, Washington) - Absolute monster at 6'6" and 266 lbs. Had a great freshman year and followed it up with a dominant sophomore. Can't wait for this guy to reach the NFL.
David Fales (QB, San Jose State) - He doesn't have the athleticism of Manziel, Bridgewater or Boyd, but by god is he accurate. Can make all the throws and seems like a smart pocket player.
A few players I look forward to seeing if they can take the next step in their college careers are Aaron Murray (QB, Georgia) who is a potential first rounder. And TJ Yeldon (RB, Alabama) who could be better than TRich and Lacy - not draft eligible but one to look out for.

David Fales will be a first rounder. We had a great half hour interview with him for podcast but only time technical issues ever have been so severe we couldn't publish.
Jenkins I'm not as high on as others. Will be a first round pick most likely and is very talented but don't buy him as an elite prospect in the same mold as a Vernon Davis or Kellen Winslow when they went in draft.
