First topic message reminder :

As a general rule, if you want a world class player (and by world class I mean a player that I consider to be one of the 3 best in the world in his position at the moment), you will be looking at between £20-25 million.

For a top international with over 30 caps, £17-22 million, and an international with less than 30 caps £15-20 million. There may be some exceptions to this in the case of certain players, but this will be the general rule.

There will be an upper limit of £10 million for uncapped academy aged players unless two or more managers want the player and enter into a bidding war in which case there is no upper limit.

Bids for uncapped players who are over academy age limits will be judged on their own individual merits.

SJE - should have said in my bid that I'd release Taumalolo if the bid was successful that would give me the extra £0.1m to get him as I'm currently on 14.9m.

Reasoning is that he is not academy age and looking at a consistent pricing for bids for players, I've gone through the list of players who have been bought without caps recently so you can see the cost for a player like Chiocci.

Pooly, I am going by the approach we've taken all summer on bids, I haven't rejected any of your bids previously but £10m for Chiocci is too cheap when you compare it to the bids I have shown that have been accepted previously.

If you want to wait for Johnny then that is fine, it is a shame that you take these things personally though as would have been the same decision for anyone else. If it makes things easier in the future I will not make a decision on your future bids as want to avoid anything like this happening.

I bid at 8pm last night Flux, deleted it for 10mins this afternoon as Johnny had updated budgets and missed off 3m. As soon as he realised he was 3m off I put it back up.

On my calculations I did have the 13m so bid was valid.

Not a problem, just got my wires crossed!

Pooly, no problem - generally £5m for academy player then a big jump to £12-14m for uncapped player at a big club, £15m for someone with under 5 caps and then it just goes up from there - not many world class players out there so wont tend to go over £20m for a bid to get accepted.
