Re: Anyone...
Hopefully there will be - but it only needs one or two posters to start to get things moving with other counties' supporters (see discussions between Middlesex / Surrey)

Re: Anyone...
Sainty,
Like the Corporal I'm a Surrey supporter and sufferer. However, I'm a great admirer of James Taylor and also Claude Henderson. Impressed by both when I saw them in action at the Oval last week. Less so by the Leics supporting cast.
Happy to converse if you want some time. My watching of Leics goes back to the days of Illy, the Tolchard brothers and the late footballer Chris Balderstone.

Re: Anyone...
Cheers boys, I'm aware it's not a heavily supported county, but I think that should the current crop of young guns be nurtured correctly, then the Foxes might be successful in the future.
Taylor's a class act guildford, such a promising talent and I hope he gets a chance with England eventually.

Re: Anyone...
Sainty - I second that about Taylor as I have been arguing elsewhere that he is one of those select group of players that should be fast tracked, such is the level of his talent.
Guildford - that was the team that included Inman, Davidson (?) Birkenshaw....and won the county championship I recall.... I'm thinking they had a good fast bowler as well....was it McKenzie...?

Re: Anyone...
Sainty - I see Taylor is with the England Lions next week. He may look like a cub but he can certainly roar!
Corporal - I was thinking of the Leics team that won the Championship and was particularly successful in the one day game from the early to mid 1970s. I remember quite a few of their players: -
Ray Illingworth [no comment needed]
Roger Tolchard [fine wicket keeper / batsman who toured with England]
Jeff Tolchard [batsman and squad member, brother of Roger]
Brian Davison [opening batsman]
John Steele [opening batsman and slow bowler who became a first class umpire, brother of David 'Lamb Chops' Steele]
Ken Higgs [ex England seamer]
Garth McKenzie [ex Aussie paceman]
Graham Cross [bits 'n pieces cricketer who also played in '63 and '69 FA Cup Finals for Leicester City]
the late Chris Balderstone [my favourite - batsman and occasional slow bowler, also played pro football; only person to have played in a CC Cricket match and a Football League game on the same day!].
I don't remember Inman. I suspect he had left slightly earlier and so wasn't 'free'!
