Absolutely gutted. Has been a great servant to Hampshire for nearly 20 years.

Jimbo - completely understand your comments. Do you think he might stay with Hants in a coaching type role? I'm sure he would inspire the younger players.

I definitely think so Guildford. He says he would like to go into coaching, so why not at Hampshire? All the young players at the club seem to look up to him, so it would be great if he stuck around OK 

Hopefully we can end the season with a trophy for him king

Speculation is rife that Nick Compton out of contract at Somerset is keen to return south and Surrey would seem a likely destination.
