Most Impressive

Just learned that our Junior Club Champ (who is off 2) played in a Jamega Pro Tour event at the Players Club and shot a level Par score for joint 10th place (out of over 60 Pros).

The place in the event was a prize for the best gross score at our own Junior Open. I thought the idea of such an invite was a great prize and the lad has made the most of the opportunity. He has a great temperament and I can see him getting to scratch this season and into plus figures by the time he turns 18.

Always nice to see the future of the Club performing well.

While playing (hacking) the other day. I saw some kids playing. Makes me wish I started while young.

Great to see young athletes find the right balance between the need for continuous improvement and getting burned out.

That's great.  One of our juniors has gone on to get a golf scholarship to an American university and is now playing in the US collegiate system and we get the odd update on how he’s doing (he won a minor competition over there recently). Makes me sick

Maybe not as great as yesterday...9 over today but as a junior amateur playing in an adult professional tournament, to finish in the top half of the field over 36 holes is a very creditable achievement.
