Greatest Boxing Match ever?

title says it all , what has been your favourite boxing match ever?

mine has got to be Lewis vs Tyson back in the day.

Frazier-Ali I. Most important fight in history, at least in its pure boxing significance (as opposed to extraneous factors of Louis-Schmeling and Johnson-Jeffries). Unusually, the reality surpassed the hype. Never be a boxing event to match it again, sadly.

Curry - Mccrory.........From a personal point of view.......

Hagler-Hearns - For sheer adrenalin pump both before...during and after..............Great night..

Holmes-Norton - The first fight I ever watched.........

Great era to be American the 80s..........Feel sorry for the Brits having to get up at 3am.........

The greatest fight I've seen in my lifetime is Julio Cesar Chavez v Meldrick Taylor, on a global scale nothing like Ali v Frazier, but for two had everything for me. Superb contrast in styles, two top class technicians and drama you couldn't make up.

I found Taylor-Chavez boring Roddy..........

Chavez work though obviously effective...........was under the radar and it looked like a masterclass.......

Really Truss ? I love that fight but I could watch Chavez go to work all day and Taylor was scintillating.

Hey look It's all about what turns you on.....

For me, Watson/Benn. The build up was huge. The atmosphere was other worldly. The fight itself was brilliant and Watson put on a masterclass.

The Barrera V Morales fights are up there for me. Aggressive fights with high skill levels.

Hagler v Hearns for the sheer brutality of it.

The Brawl in Montreal just because it was unbelievable eye rubbing stuff.

The most tense I have ever felt before a fight was Benn v McClennan. It was up there with the nerves I had getting in the ring myself.

The Ali v Fraiser fight was crazy in its intensity for such big men. Looking back now they were so mobile and throwing lots of punches. Gone are the days when heavyweights fought in any way approaching that.

Corrales v castillio I for me. I can watch the fight over and over.

Hatton had some good fights too.

Frazier Ali 1 is one of my favourite fights,and boxing in those days was a top sport watched by millions around the world.Going back a few years Patterson and Johansen's fights always made the hairs on the back of my neck tingle. More recently I eagerly awaited the Hagler Leonard fight and Leonard's fights with Hearns.And I did enjoy Lewis's demolition of Tyson.

Strange pick but one of my favourites has got to be Mayweather Vs Gatti

Unbelievable display from mayweather that night as the challenger! Really worked Gatti over.

You're telling me it's a strange pick. Made Mayweather/Alvarez look like a close run thing. Mayweather himself berated Gatti calling him a "c-list fighter" and all the Floyd lovers cream themselves over a performance where one guy forgot to turn-up that night and even if he had it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference.

What else to you do for kicks, what YouTube videos of people drowning kittens?

Was very impressed with the speed in that fight, the speed and the variation of punches, and regarding the drowning kittens unfortunately they took that off you tube so I've had to resort to drowning them myself.

Should Mayweather of just gone easy on the guy to win his belt?

Hamed v Robinson - though i feel this fits into DAVE's kitten analogy

Benn v McLlellan - though horrific outcome

Hagler v Hearns - ferocity of it

Ward v Gatti
Dempsey v Firpo
Zale v Graziano 2

Lennox vs Tyson would have been better had it been 15 years earlier. was a bit of a freak show/joke match when they fought.

My fav fights that stick in my mind are:

Ward vs Gatti
Mayweather vs Coralles
Lewis vs Klitschko
Marquez vs Pacquaio (every one apart form the blatant robbery)

And? Carlos Baldomir was the Champion when Mayweather fought him and he was no better than Gatti. Easy to look good against fighters with a fraction of your skillset. Mayweather Gatti was a glorified sparring session

Arguello - Pryor 1

This had everything not least the controversy over the "black bottle". Even although Arguello is one of my all time favourites, I can watch this again & again. 2 real warriors.

Morales v Maidana - to see El Terrible put in one more memorable performance, even in defeat. Turning his man when we all thought he might literally be killed.

Whitaker vs Nelson - complete showcase of boxing talent against a decent fighter.

Benn vs Eubank 1&2 - May be a little biased but feel Benn won both, probably shows more biase believing this for the first fight than the second! Also in the second it was pretty much the only time Don King has ever lost in boxing.

Winky v Trinidad - Tito schooled from start to finish and only lacked the coup de grace of a KO.

Considering that their first fight ended in a ninth round stoppage victory for Eubank, I believe that you have probably won the prize for most biased fan ever! It was also one of my favorites-not only was it a great fight, but I picked Eubank to win by stoppage,mand iit was nice to get one right for a change.

Recently Pac vs JMM 4 was a classic

Two great picks there, KO KING.

I always struggle trying to decide which of the Marquez-Pacquiao fights is my favourite. All of them aside from the third were Fight of the Year contenders and great to watch for different reasons. I guess the fourth one was the best because it had that extra little bit of 'wow' factor given the ending, but the second one is probably still my personal favourite, if that makes sense.
