Post by Kenny Sun 20 Oct 2013, 1:53 pm

Anyone going to watch this tonight ( Sunday 20th Oct 9pm Sky One ) ?

Karl Pilkington is back ! But unlike An Idiot Abroad this time Karl picks were he wants to go and how their cultures effect his idea of life's big issues .

Love Pilkington (non homo). He says the stuff that others can't get away with.

You're very open minded. A traveller, a gambler...... I think Pilkington appeals to guys like me. Simple Sunday, music on, fire on, drink on. Bird in New York.

We seem to lead similar lives, sean, fornicating with A-listers and passing out in the early evening on Sundays having made sure we recorded The Moaning Of Life.

I've enjoyed it, but I don't think it's as good as either Idiot Abroad series.

While I'm enjoying The Moaning... I can't imagine wanting to watch it again (like I have with An Idiot).

Karl is a kind of Idiot Savant though. His best work (as with Ricky and Steve) is on XFM and the podcasts (and Derek!).

Agree with cyril, karl is at his best when interacting with Merchant & Gervais in the studio. Get all the podcasts for the real funny bits.

Karls Diary
His poem about kidney stones
How you never see an old person eating a twix
Roleplay between him and Ricky about being a manager of a plumbing company in winter

They're just great to listen to.

I was'nt a fan of Idiot abroad.
Girlfried sat down to watch this, so I thought I would give it a go.

Love it, great show. KP cracks me up.
Totally the man for the job.
Funny when nobody would buy his fish in SA.

When he was taken for a ride in that rich guys car, god he shat himself.

Very funny show.

As mentioned the podcasts are probably the funniest things you'll ever listen too.

Rockbusters, Monkey News etc.

Some of my favorite Monkey News'.....

The monkey that walked in on a bank robbery, took the gun and the cash....then backed out with the gun haha. Then the following week there was a follow up to that story were the swat team surrounded the monkey at the zoo and the monkey then handed out guns to his mates. They then made a deal with the negotiators. Gervais walks out not being able to listen too it haha.

Then the Health Spa for chimps......that is run by a couple of chimps. haha

Could go through more but finally.....

"Little monkey football team in Brazil, little goalkeeper monkey....now that sounds pretty normal...the bit I didn't tell you is, he is a holder of Phd in Physics"

My favourite poem from the podcasts is the one about kidney stones:

For God's sake, my belly ache
The doctors say its me kidney
He says he's got to stick a tube up my knob
I said you got to be kidding me
For God's sake, knob ache

Yea at the start of the story Karl mentions there was this big celebrity. Ricky says "lets say it was Cher".

Then Karl goes through the story and then says "Cher then said 'that was the best interview i've ever done' " haha

Ricky goes nuts because it was him that added Cher to the story and all of a sudden it apparently was Cher on the show hahaha.
