7 reasons why Arsenal CANNOT win the league
Hello,
Lots of people are saying that Arsenal could win the league but only if they stay top for the rest of the season. There are several reasons why that is not the case and why Arsenal cannot win the league:
1.) Arsenal have not played anyone good yet. Liverpool have now played a good side and Tottenham have played a good side because both played Arsenal. Arsenal have not played anyone good because Liverpool and Tottenham are not considered good sides when they lose to Arsenal. so Liverpool and Tottenham's positions are more impressive than Arsenal's because they have both had to play a good side.
2.) Arsenal have yet to play any of the teams above them in the league. Until Arsenal play one of the teams above them in the league, they cannot be considered title challengers.
Please see the graph which shows the amount of teams above each respective club in which they have played.

3) The graph clearly shows Man Utd have made the better start taking into account the positions of the teams they've had to play in comparison to them. man United have incredibly played 5 teams above them in the league. Arsenal and Chelsea have actually had the worst starts in relation to their position because they have played the least amount of teams above them in the league.
4.) Looking at the fixtures over the whole season, Arsenal have the easier fixtures. They get to play all the easy teams at home. Where as Man Utd and Liverpool have to play all the hard teams away from home. The fixtures are biased towards Arsenal so once this is sorted Arsenal will coming flying down the table.
5.) Arsenal lack a manager that has experience of winning the PL, where as Man Utd, Liverpool and City don't have this problem. Their managers have been there and done it.
6.) Arsenal don't have a stand out player like Suarez at Liverpool, Van Persie at Man U, Townsend at Spurs and Torres at Chelsea. They just have lots of quite good players that are all of the same standard. So if Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla, Giroud, Flamini, Whilshire, Arteta, Rosicky, Sagna and Walcott all get injured, they are in big trouble.
7.) I cannot see Arsenal ending the 9 year trophy drought unless they win something.
Those were 7 reasons why Arsenal cannot win the league.

..and here's me moping around because Liverpool haven't won the EPL and yet is transpires that we have...brilliant! Can we have another Champions League trophy while were at it and of course the F.A. Cup from the other year?
Does Wenger have a twin becasue I'm sure I saw a guy who looked a lot like him when "the Invincibles" won the Premiership but again, I'm happy to be proved wrong on this.

Re: 7 reasons why Arsenal CANNOT win the league
for the above posters who took offence/took this thread seriously the thread was designed as a joke to mock those people who belittle arsenal's chances of epl success.
I thought it was clearly a joke Arsenal especially when i put points like this
2.) Arsenal have yet to play any of the teams above them in the league. Until Arsenal play one of the teams above them in the league, they cannot be considered title challengers.
Kind of obvious Arsenal haven't played any teams above them because Arsenal have been top most of the season.

Re: 7 reasons why Arsenal CANNOT win the league
Literally about to comment that this was a wind up haha. Good post though
On a serious notes, Its too early to be saying who will and won't win the league. Arsenal can only beat what's in front of them at the end of the day. They're playing some cracking football and dismantled a Liverpool side full of confidence, although I think the tactics from Liverpool and team selection was pretty poor.
Utd is a huge game for both sides, simply because if Arsenal win then it effectively puts utd out of the title running and this is coming from a utd fan. They win it also cements them as one of the favorites for the title. Of course they still have to play Chelsea and City but they have hardly been great this season.

It's ok mate, I saw it as a spoof and was momentarily tempted to point out that any of the 7 reasons given could equally apply to Portsmouth. Their manager hasn't ever won the Premiership either, they have no stand out players (they almost haven't got any players..!!) and they also have yet to play anybody in the top six of the PL.
I would also add, that they have the additional disadvantage of being in League 2, which is always going to make winning the Premiership difficult.
It's just not fair.

Re: 7 reasons why Arsenal CANNOT win the league
Great thread. I asked this on another thread how long will the charade that ARsenal have not beaten anyone will stay alive. Napoli, Dortmund, Spurs, and Liverpool apparently are chopped liver because well as you astutely put it they lost to Arsenal. In fact Arsenal is really unlucky to not be unbeaten in the so-called group of death. A cazorla shot hits the woodwork, a would be goal is cleared off the line, and Dortmund steal a late winner against the run of play and in 4 matches that is our only hiccup. Hey Olly, do you want to change your estimation that Arsenal are screwed when the groups came out. Arsenal are pretty much through and most likely top of the so-called group of death, assuming they can beat Marseille at home.

Arsenal aren't through just yet Socal, but they've done a heck of a lot better than I expected in this group so far

Re: 7 reasons why Arsenal CANNOT win the league
Fair enough about the fact that they signed Ozil afterwards, but they are pretty much through with two matches left as long as they beat Marseille at home, nothing of course is 100 percent but really Arsenal should be unbeaten in the group of death that should tell us all we need to know about the quality of this group of Arsenal players.Olly wrote:Arsenal aren't through just yet Socal, but they've done a heck of a lot better than I expected in this group so far
