Tablets Empty Tablets

Post by The Womble Thu 28 Nov 2013, 10:47 am

Morning all,

I have a quick question for the board about Tablets. I notice that the previous generation Kindle Fire HD is on Amazon for £99. Is this a good deal? Mrs Womble wants a tablet and to be honest I'm not completely 'au fait' on what is the best reasonably priced tablet on the market?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

I'm not sure about the kindle fire, although I am told that it's very good. I would definately stay away from the 'no name' cheap tablets though. They might look the part but most don't work properly or only work for a little while. (One of my mates bought one for his daughter and ended up throwing it away and then getting her a Kindle fire.)

The missus has just told me - Look up Spirit tablets, apparently they are very good for a budget tablet and are from about 50 quid

Depends what she wants mate.

If you do a lot of business through amazon then Kindle fire is a good cheap option

The best budget tablet by far is the Nexus 7 and is a bit more agnostic. I have the Kindle Fire HD and Mrs Dagless has the nexus7 and the Nexus is much better

We get a lot of stuff through Amazon. It is mainly for surfing the web, few apps maybe etc. I have a basic Kindle which I use all the time and she keeps saying that she might like one as well, so I was thinking she could get some books on it as well.

If that is all you are doing with it mate then it is a nice bit of kit

I use a lot of the apps on the nexus and it has a bit more poke

but from the sound of it the Kindle will be grand Smile
