I'm going for the super-modern 4-3-3 formation...

GK: Van der Sar
LB: Baines
RB: Richards
CB: Vidic
CB: Kompany
DCM: Parker
CM: Nasri
CM: Wilshere
RF: Tevez
LF: Nani
CF: Hernandez

And a bench of:

Hart, Suarez, Adam, Ferdinand and Van Persie

Hart? He is not as good as people think.Van Der Sar should be in that team.
Hart has made some errors and he could have done better for some of the goals he has conceded.

Can't remember those mistakes you speak of but I'll take your word for it. It was close for me but Hart has had more work to do this season than VDS and VDS still refuses to come for crosses more often than not.

Hart did have a top season, and the error that I recall was against Leicester in the FA Cup - ultimately of no consequence.

Van der Sar got the nod from me partly because he is retiring after this year, but mostly because he has been near-flawless.

I realised I left Bale out of my side just now, but my formation means he can't get in unless he was left forward...

I would say VDS has been the best keeper but Hart and Reina have pushed him close. Cech isnt the same player he was before his head injury and the other two dont come close.

Maybe not errors as such but he didn't cover himself in glory for a lot of goals.I think Given is better than him but my Irish bias comes into that.

I think he is over-rated and at times tends to be a bit flappy at crosses.

to me. Given is one of the best keepers in the league, he could be number one for most if not all of the teams in the league, he needs a move to another club over the summer, i reckon he could be heading to arsenal.

Arsenal should have taken him in January. They may well have still been in the title race had they done that and not scrapping for third with City.

No he isn't. Great shotstopper, but that should be a given (haha) with any goalkeeper. Poor at pretty much everything else. People always wonder why he hasn't played for a top team. I think the answer to that is fairly simple.

I wouldnt say Given was poor at everything else, when he was at Newcastle and playing at City I would have said he was the most consistent keeper in the league

All people ever seem to see in a gk is shot-stopping hence if your good at it, you're a good keeper by default. He rarely comes for crosses so nobody really mentions that he is poor at fielding them, which on limited evidence and his reluctance to come off his line suggest he is. He doesn't command his area, poor footwork and slow speed across his line and average at best distribution. He makes outstanding outstretched saves that someone like Reina with his superior footwork and positioning would allow him just to catch.

He's like Paul Robinson sans huge kick and bloopers.
