Matchups I want to see in 2014.

1) Murray vs Nadal (grass or hard court). No brainer! Highly anticipated matchup. Can the now 2 time slam winner Murray take it to Nadal?

2) Federer vs Murray (clay). It has never happened before and I want to see it!

3) JJ vs Djokovic (Any). Last of the old big 4 that Janowicz is yet to play.

4) Wawrinka vs Djokovic (clay). Fresh with his slam win, on what he calls his fave surface, it will be interesting to see if stan can become a threat on the surface to a slam challenger here.

5) Delpo vs Nadal (clay). Ever since davis cup final '11 (delpo was on fire at times, destroying rafa for a set and a bit) i have wanted to see this matchup again.

Several other noteworthy ones like: feds vs nadal (grass), dimitrov vs any of the big 4 & anyone and everyone beating david ferrer   

What matches would you like to see this year?

I like those top 5, they have the advantage of being novel, or at least novel for a while. They'd also tell us things.

Obviously I'd like to see Dimitrov play Federer a few times, maybe Wimbledon would be great (perhaps we even get a "Sampras" moment, though it wouldn't mean so much as Pete was 4 times reigning champ and Fed was 19, not like the situation today).

I think we need to see some marquee Djokovic v Nadal matches; there is more to say between those two, and Novak needs to come back at Rafa. I still think his best chances against Rafa are on clay and Nadal would not relish meeting him at RG, especially if it's slow conditions. Not too many of them though, I have things to do this year

Stan needs to play Rafa on a big stage again, to show the injury somewhat robbed him of glory.

This list is about matches yet to occur or haven't happened in ages but yes it's hard to deny that a novak rafa rematch is on the cards, hopefully with a djoko win.
Also I would like, not so much in matchups, but just for some new blood to come through or just people like stan (exciting players) to come through and shock the top guys more often.

Djokovic vs Federer - Djokovic for some reason has never quite figured Federer out, and think Fed, in his Indian summer can take Djokovic to troubled waters.

Li Na vs Williams - I keep hoping Na will eventually not get mauled at the end in a Williams match - hope springs eternal.

KA can't beat Berdych... It's like the Ferrer-Djokovic match-up. Facing someone who does everything you do good... at an elite level.

As Lleyton upset Stan last year at wimby (i was there), I think he can really cause an upset there against one of the top 10ers (delpo, berdych, stan, ferrer etc).

I would like to see if three times is the charm for Novak against Nadal at RG. I have a feeling that it will be another close and thrilling affair and maybe this time Novak can pull through. I'd like to see JJ v. Novak that is a good shout LS because of JJ talking some smack on Novak before this match took place. And I would like to see Andy and Nadal play at wimbeldon, I feel like Nadal has the edge in that matchup but that on grass I think Murray has the edge in conditions.

I've followed Murray since he appeared at Queens in '05 all skinny, crampy and surly. I remember instantly thinking that this guy would be more successful than Henman (none of those ridiculously irritating forehands dumped half way up the net that Tim liked to trade in); wish I'd put my money where my thought was.

Dimi I like just simply because he's on the younger side and I want to see some new blood coming through, although really he has been well known for a good few years!

Yeah Nalby could of achieved so much more. In a parallel universe he's probably got five slams.

Anyway I digress. I'd generally just like to see more match-ups all year with all the top guys, as the last couple of years have been slightly disjointed. Murray is the prime example, a few ultimate highs interspersed with a lot of mediocre in 2012 and 2013 (only one Masters series title in those seasons).

No, I suppose if life is a game of trying to get the least amount wrong, Henbo was just that bit wronger (so to speak) than Murray. He also had a much better second serve, but let's brush over that!
