Braehmer vs Enzo

Anybody tuning in to this one to see if Enzo can upset the odds? I'm really hoping he does, a true gent and fair play to basically getting himself this shot.

haha yeah I noticed that mate, at least people are watching these undercard fights. There was about 10 people in the arena before Frampton came out last night.

I read a quote where Enzo was saying he wants to be Wales first two weight world champion. I thought Calzaghe had already done that.

What time is Enzo's ring walk?

Jack Culcay will never make a dent in that division. That guy had been stopped 3 times and he couldn't put a dent in him.

Think Calzaghe only won the 'Ring' title at LHW.

Apparently Eric Ochieng has been rushed to hospital after his Prizefighter quarter final, hopefully it's nothing serious.

Has the Enzo fight started yet? Am on the Isle of Wight with basic Freeview and nothing but a GPRS signal on my iPhone for internet access. Could someone please describe the punches as they land; incorporating sound effects like 'oof' and 'thwomp' at the appropriate junctures?

Good first round, Enzo took some clean shots but that right hand at the end of the first has busted his eye badly.

Did ok in that round given he only has 1 eye.

Really think he needs to keep that right handed bolted up though. Work with the left only.

Not that mate, but it's like Enzo has got a softball on top of his eye. Doctor was called in during that round, but Lockett is letting him carry on.

He landed a good right hand during that round which forced Braehmer back but you get the feel that Braehmer is taking it easy.

He's boxed well mate, has landed some very good shots and is showing some serious guts.

Well, I like Enzo a lot. He seems like a decent guy, is better (I think) than he's given credit for and has fought his way back from several highlight reel KOs. Would have liked him to win this - and thought that he had a chance, given the reach advantage and the fact he has a decent dig... just so long as he could stay out of trouble.

Locketts pulled him out, probably broken his cheek bone or eye socket. Enzo wanted to carry on, and fair play. He boxed superbly and didn't take that many clean shots but as soon as the eye went it was an uphill battle.

The entire side of his face has blown up, shame that he won't get another chance. Time to hang them up now, nothing left to prove and I don't want to see him anywhere near Kovalov or Stevenson.

Shame. Cheers for keeping me informed. Hope that kid that was talked about earlier is ok. Bad luck Enzo, but kudos to your determination.

Awful injury and no doubt he should have been stopped but Lockett shouldn't have done it.

It was Enzo's last chance at the big time and should have chosen when to finish it or let the ref or docs do it.

I sympathise and slightly respect Lockett for doing it but HE has called an end to Enzo's career, which isn't very satisfactory.

They're saying Enzo went into the fight with an eye injury. Despite losing that was a warrior performance from him.

The referee and the doctor should never have let Lockett make that decision, the doctor looked at that twice and did nothing. That guy should never be allowed near a boxing ring again.

The hardest thing to do is to close the giving hand out of kindness.

I want to see a rematch of this fight, Enzo was holding his own in there and Braehmer seemed very negative from the off. Hopefully Sauerland give him another shot.

Hampo, I kind of agree. But, as they didn't, I don't think Lockett should have made it, as correct as it was.

Enzo wanted to go on, as he should, and Braehmer wasn't exactly giving him a boxing lesson, landing at will etc. In fact, considering Enzo is a Euro level fighter, fighting with one eye, Braehmer really should have had more success.

But, it was up to the officials to end it. I appreciate Lockett was "looking after" his fighter and I do respect that but, he has deprived his fighter of his "last big chance".

As I say, although Braehmer was edging most of the rounds (I thought 1, maybe 2 at a push, could have gone to Enzo), he was making slightly heavy work of it.

Anyway, Enzo comes out of it with honour. He lost on an unfortunate injury. But sadly, that's the last we will see of him at this level. He was lucky to get this fight.
