OWGR needs tweaking.
I'vebeen saying this for a while now. The OWGR needs tweaking, as it does not accurately reflect what his happening right now. A 2 year rolling system doesn't work. And people make too much of what it means. The players need the points for entrance into events. That's it. Doesnt mean anything outside of that.

How about that Ryo Ishikawa? Been playing better has he not?

two questions I hope you can answer.
is there a way to put most recent posts in a forum up at top instead of going through the posts?
and can you directly reply to someone or do you have to quote a post of theirs in order to do that? thanks.

If you play Yahoo Fantasy, Hoffman is a solid pick in C-Group.
I should have picked have picked Howell in A-Group as I was three legged all weekend. From what I saw, most people picked Smalrus, Fowler, or Top Five in A Group and all three missed the cut. (I picked Rickie and Smalrus). Man I hate to be three legged on the weekend.
Hey George, just wanted to update you. In our yahoo league, Bill is in the top 50 again for the second time this year. That is pretty darn good eh with so many people playing? We are impressed. I thought you would want to know. How are you doing btw?

I just found a new feature. It is called the Friend or Foe. When they are Foes, there is an ignore feature. LOVE IT.
BTW, Global Yahoo Fantasy Golf Leader is now averaging less than 174 pts per week. and the top 50 is averaging less than 169 points per week.

Paige .. there is a way to see all the most recent posts on the whole site .. but I'm guessing you are only interested in golf and not the WWE crap that infests other parts of this forum
I'd say just stick to the golf forum and when you look at that it *should" be sorted with most recently updated threads at the top. You will also see a tiny orange icon next to threads that have had a post added since your last visit - and if you click that icon it will take you directly to the oldest post that you haven't yet seen
And there is also a private message feature so you can talk with someone else directly without everyone seeing it - just click on their username then there should be an option to send them a message

Sorry for the confusion, but I agree with your point about self improvement. We ALL should have the self awareness to know when we need to change and/or improve ourselves.

Re: OWGR Week 17
Some early projections.
Wells Fargo has a 50 rating. The Championship at Laguna National has a 22 rating.
Mickelson will pass Day with a win and get to #5. Rose, Rory, Zach can get to #6 with a win.
Mickelson has the 3rd longest streak in the top 10 (behind Woods and Scott). It is at risk.
Rose is adding a tournament to his divisor, he needs to earn about 2 pts more than Rory to stay ahead of him.

Re: OWGR Week 17
PD just tweeted that Adam Scott can Lee Westwood his way pass Tiger next week. If Scott skips the Players, he will pass Woods.
But Stenson, Bubba, and Kuchar could claim the number 1 spot.
Phil and Rory can get to number 1 if they win tomorrow and win next week.
Miscalculation early this week, Phil does not pass Jason Day if he wins this week. Phil, Justin, Rory will all be #6 if they win tomorrow.

At least four Top 40 guys missing the Players, including Woods and Day of course. Dubuisson is out and so is Jimenez.
But JB Holmes will surely be added to the field after this week's effort.

Re: OWGR Week 17
IIRC, the only way for JB Holmes to play the Players is to win.
The FEX & OWG deadline was after last week.
Holmes could climb as high as #67 should he win.
Flores ~ #78
Mickelson #6
Kisner ~#111
Bohn ~#68
Rose #6
Kaymer ~#36

GPB,
Then why do CBS and pgatour.com report that JB can qualify with seven more FedEx pts, 63rd place apparently? I thought it was something to do with the Medical Extension that he just emerged from.
I've seen it written and spoken, I just don't understand it!!

Re: OWGR Week 17
It would have to be something to do with Medical Extension. He was about 7th alternate when I looked earlier today. But they don't start filling alternates until the field gets down to 144 players.
He would have to shoot about 90 to fall to 64th place.

Re: OWGR Week 17
According to pgatour.com, JB "needs to earn just eight points in this week's WF Championship to match the Top 125 FedEx Cup points and qualify for The Players due to his Major Medical Extension" . . . etc.
If JB doesn't win, and the Champ is not in The Players field already, Russell Knox and Ryo could be bumped.

Ryo played in Japan this week in one of their biggest tournaments, the Crowns. He finished T5th. Wonder if he has already headed to Jax yet?
Kisner is the only player (other than Holmes) in position to win Wells Fargo that is not in the field yet at the Players.

Kisner grew up playing Junior Golf with DJ; taken a long time for him to break through, but wouldn't be surprised if he eventually did.

Re: OWGR Week 17
Kwini, UFR, I think there is one spot available to the Wells Fargo winner. If the Senior Players elects to play in Jacksonville, then the Players field expands to 145 players (stupid IMO).
Kenny Perry is the Senior Players Champ, and he is entered which makes the field 144 players (w/ Knox and Ishikawa) as of this morning.
It looks like Knox is safe, no matter what happens and Ishikawa is only at risk if Kisner wins. (and Holmes stays in the top 63).
At least this is how it used to work. It may have been changed for this year. There were 145 players in the field last year.
