How many PPV buys will "The Moment" get?

Projections for this fight didn't suggest that the Alvarez numbers would be matched, or even the Cotto numbers. Will Floyd break a million buys? If not will the sub million numbers be released, or will old Schaefer tell us he's still waiting on all the relevant buys and Last minute orders, but it Definitely over a million?

FLoyd Vs Cotto got 1.4 Million which is an awful lot of PPV buys.

This fight actually broke the 4th highest ever gate record:

1: Floyd Vs. Alvarez
2: Floyd Vs. De La Hoya
3. Lewis Vs. Holyfield 2
4. Floyd Vs. Maidana

So realistically it probably won't do that bad.

Could be lower than Guerrero which apparently did 870,000 buys.

Agreed with Strongy, I'd expect this fight to do well under a million. The obvious irony being it was one of mayweathers most exciting fights. But with maidana being 12/1, the lazy promotion of "he's Argentinian so he appeals to all Latinos", and the fact that hardcore boxing fans never thought maidana was very good should all add to a disappointing ppv.

I certainly thought Maidana was more dangerous than Guerrero. If I had to guess I'd go over 1 million.

Mayweather claims he will bag 70million from the fight. His 32 million up front fee and 38 million in extra pay per view money.

Seems very unlikely.

Mayweather once claimed he made $120m in 36 minutes, then he claimed he made $80m in 36 minutes, then he claimed he made $50m for 20 minutes work vs Alvarez, this was all in the same interview, he gave on a local channel.

Sounds leftfield to me too. Its probably 32m up front plus an extra 6m from buys making 38m total. Mayweather thinks he is gettin 32 plus 38 instead of 38 total? Hope he hasnt spent it all in advance just yet.

Pre-fight everybody thought this would be easy, so I will say it does Guerrero type numbers, maybe a little more. But the rematch would be very popular IMO. Over 1 million

Seems like nearly two weeks later, we are still no closer to finding out. But it's definitely over a million.

Apparently the Guerrero fight only did just over a million. Think this fight holds more water in casuals minds with Maidana Broner fight being big news and him coming straight off of that.

Less than 1mill there's to many ppv fighters/fights this year! Alverez,manny cotto Martinez Marquez and Floyd with the us market being 75 dollers it's more than likely some people will be saving for a certain fight/fighter

Dan Rafael has spoken to insiders and is suggesting the PPV total will be 800-900,000 buys.

Yep, there seems plenty of chatter that the event fell a lot short of 1 million. They must be planning to drop the actual figures under cover of darkness or something.

The gate at the MGM was another huge one though, not that it'll matter a jot to showtime.
