WWE has come to terms on the release of the following Superstars as of today, June 12, 2014:

Camacho
Brodus Clay
Evan Bourne
Yoshi Tatsu

WWE wishes them the best in all their future endeavors.

I feel bad for a few of those guys, I think they had some potential, especially Drew. Im amazed they couldnt find something for T'Lo, he's been there well over 15 years.

But. The most surprising thing, by far - JTG os STILL EMPLOYED!!

Well, he is an actual lawyer - maybe that's his actual job in the E, with the wrestling thing a side business... Or he negotiated himself an actual iron-clad contract?

Pro Wrestling Syndicate (Independent New-York based Promotion) have already announced details on both Curt Hawkins & Brodus Clay signing for all forth coming shows going forward... I wouldn't blink an eyelid in surprisement if a couple of these names debuted on the very first GFW show (Jeff Jarrett's new promotion) this fall

In all seriousness, a couple of these could easily reinvent themselves and make a good career by working the independent scene

They haven't for a couple of years now, it's strange as I read only last week that WWE had stopped doing releases and were just letting contracts run out.

I read that too, but isn't it one and the same? I mean a release before the contract expires is a sacking more or less.

Not quite, it'll be more being made redundant. Letting the contracts expire meant they didn't have to announce it I believe, think it was a PR thing.

Wasn't the reason they didn't have a mass release over the past few couple of years due to Linda's elections and the bad press? Now that's not the case they can just get rid of the deadwood.

I'd second this, faces people recognise. Clay was perfect for a monster heel, and could get that chance in the Indy's.

Wrestler's contracted to WWE are not employees but 'independent contracters', I'm not an expert on professional contracts but I believe this is the reason why they have no health insurance etc and I assume it allows WWE to release them from their contracts as and when they please.
