Mario was marking Ivanovic originally and just left him, can't blame Henderson for not marking Marios player.

You were "Zonal Marking" Henderson let Costa go which means Mario followed Diego when he went past the front of him, whilst Henderson proceeded to stand about like a man sausage.

If Henderson stayed with Costa like he should of done, Mario stays on Ivanovic weather he stops him scoring is a different question.

http://balls.ie/football/ivanovic-goal-vs-liverpool/?utm_campaign=twitter&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter < You watch Henderson on that he's on the penalty spot whilst everyone else in 6 yard area. It's awful marking.

Should have definitely have been a red card. Watching the replays not sure the referee could see it but it was right outside the dugouts so were was the linesman and particularly the fourth official.

JDizzle wrote:Stupid challenge from Skrtel. No doubt Costa goes down easily, but that's a penalty. Skrtel gets nowhere near the ball!
Definitely penalty. Skrtel was nowhere near the ball and took Costa's ankle.

JDizzle wrote:Which evened up the handball penalty Chelsea should have had. Whistle
No penalty. Handball has to be deliberate. Doesn't matter where arms are (no such rule as unusual position).

Fernando wrote:henderson verylucky
I'll just about give this handball. He could have gone for two yellow cards but it would have been harsh. Chelsea could have have someone sent off for two yellows too. Outside the Costa stamp and penalty, I thought Michael Oliver refereed the rest of the game quite well. He let the game go as much as possible, talked to players, controlled a difficult game.

JDizzle wrote:That second one was never a stamp!
The second Costa 'stamp' was not a stamp. He was in full flow/ motion and couldn't avoid the player.

Fernando wrote:Should have scored. I can see what he was trying to do, flick it in the far corner, but you are betterheading it hard and lower and on target.

olute shocker.
Can't agree with this. Zonal marking means you are marking a zone not a man. Having watched the video Henderson is just in front of four or five Liverpool players and as the ball got played in, he ran to the penalty spot (staying just in front on the line of Liverpool players). I assume the penalty spot was his 'zone' as the other Liverpool players ran back to the six yard box (apart from Balotelli who left his zone vacanted for Ivanovic). They are marking areas not players.

Fantastic first goal by Eriksen. I thought Sheffield United were going to do it when they got back to 2-1. But Kane and Eriksen showed their class on that last goal.

If the final is anything like the 5-3 game from Christmas it should be a cracker. Probably 0-0 and penalties then.
