Srinivasan Gone :)

The Supreme Court Ruled

--Srinivasan not allowed to contest BCCI elections  

--and a number of other verdicts that confirm the conflict of interest

--BCCI elections to be held on 6 weeks minus Srinivasan

--external comittee of 3 Supreme court judges to decide the punishment for those guilty in betting and conflict of interest. SC states BCCI cannot be trusted with handling this internally.

--and most important.....much as BCCI might call itself a private Body with private rules.......but the SC rules that they are conducting a public function and hence under the laws of courts of the land

Yet he is ICC president and sits on the ICC Executive committee that oversees "integrity, anti-corruption and ethics" in cricket. You couldn't make some of this up...

Anyway if it leads to an overhaul of the BCCI (fat chance IMO) then it is good obviously for the BCCI but also possibly for world cricket given the state of play.

I won't hold up much hope though...

10 team world cup in 2019, that will be fun.

a Number of media channels are reporting Srini will not conetst the BCCi elections.
And its being reported Sharad Pawar is trying to get the support of Indian Prime Minister......who party he supports in the state of Maharashtra.

And Dalmiya is the new head of BCCI....will get elected uncontested tomm.
a shrewd , consensual, man of far more refined mannerisms....than Srini.
Will see a softening of stance on issues like DRS and and end of brazen bullying.

Also almost certainly an end of Dhoni after the world cup s a captain
