First topic message reminder :

Silva has just won me a tidy £640, next goalscorer and City to score at least five, woohoo.

Waited until now to comment as I missed the first half earlier. Now I've got to see highlights of what I missed I feel comfortable saying we deserved the win. Fought from start to finish for every ball and scored two excellent goals. Puts us nicely into the mix for those top 4 spots.

At this stage of the season every game is vital, especially in terms of keeping our momentum up. Bring on Burnley!

Hell of a set back for every other team in the top four chase. I feel comfortable saying this is where the season is gonna really heat up. Europe is not gonna be a problem for everyone from City to Spurs. Southampton really will prove their mettle now. City really shouldnt be able to let a seven point gap to 5th slip so the top two are safe for the top four, but tough call on everyone else.

Man Utd v Spurs Mar 15th
Liverpool v Man Utd Mar 22nd
Arsenal v Liverpool Apr 4th
Saints v Spurs Apr 25th
Man Utd v Arsenal May 16th

Keep in mind that Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd all have to play Chelsea, Man Utd, Tottenham and Southampton have to play City.

Spurs and Southampton have it easier in terms of remaining fixtures but they also have a bit more ground to make up. Liverpool and United have a tough run in, particularly United. I am hoping that Arsenal are in the top 4 by May 16th and that we some how do something we almost never do and win at OT knocking United out of the Champions league. That and we are actually within striking range of City although I doubt we will catch them.

Tbf I think Liverpool fans deserve a bit of credit, everyone was still getting right behind Brendan, he's a top manager and now everyone is getting their reward.

Liverpool have still drastically regressed from last year, they like everyone else are fortunate every team has, it's looking fairly likely that 70 points will be good enough for top four which is very low.

I also personally don't think Chelsea are going to end up with many more points than last year but will secure the title regardless.

Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City have all gone backwards in the past 12 months, United have moved forward about one step as have Chelsea.

Southampton and West Ham are the big movers and are now looking increasingly unlikely to be effecting the European places.

I tipped Liverpool to win the title this season, so happy to see them get into the top five, proving my tip wasn't quite as stupid as first thought.
Watched a few minutes of MOTD only, but did see the Palace player deliberately elbow the Hammer man. He'll get a lengthy ban, hopefully.

A lengthy ban?

how about we ban every single player for a couple of months.

Fellani has intentionally elbowed about 25 different players, as have countless other professionals.. What bans are you offering those?.

a couple of years- 4 matches?

whats your call?

To be fair to Liverpool like Spurs last year it was always going to be tough to replace a Suarez or Bale type player. Especially with Balotelli being a flop. Plus Sturridge was out hurt for awhile as well. Chelsea in my opinion are much stronger than they were last year. They were close to the title last year but this year I think they will win by a large number of points. At the start of the season I had Chelsea, Arsenal, City, and United finishing in the top 4 in that order. It may actually work out that way. City has a much weaker side than the team that first won the title now almost 4 years ago. Kompany is a shell of himself. Ya ya isn't as good. And the strikers they have brought in don't make up for the loss of Tevez.

The issue is as much as losing Suarez hurts, for the money spent, crashing out of contention for both major trophies before Xmas is unacceptable. Saw a stat yesterday than Brendans Points per game in the 2nd half of the season has been excellent every year, but if you're miles behind after the first half it loses its shine a bit.

I think it will be Liverpool & Arsenal getting the last two places. Arsenal always find a way & Liverpool's momentum is great at the moment, like last year. I see United slipping up with those remaining fixtures, playing the way they are.

Dolphin - I apologise, won't happen again.

1. Key part of that quote you missed out 'in comparison to where we were earlier in the year'. I can clearly see where he was coming from with that. We were rubbish, very slow, didn't look like scoring and leaky at the back.

2. Anyone who analyses what manager's say in public needs to realise that it's about media management and not necessarily the truth. I also realise it's pointless me saying this as people will still hang on every word.

"British Transport Police are investigating reports Chelsea supporters were involved in racist and abusive behaviour on a train between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly on Sunday evening.

"A BTP spokesman confirmed shortly after 22:30 GMT, officers were called to meet the train at Stoke.

"Officers from Staffordshire Police also attended and asked four men to leave the train.
"Two witnesses were spoken to and investigations continue."

Can I agree with both sides of this point? Cos managers say plenty of things in the press that are hard to really take as their actual opinion, but Rodgers is also the king of speaking a lot without saying anything worthwhile. He'd roger himself if he could

Wasn't exactly a tackle, Figueroa clears the ball and then drags the studs down the back of Ireland's leg, there certainly seemed a deliberate movement from Figueroa to ensure contact happened.

An England player has been arrested on suspicion of sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Police, according to The Sun, also found a loaded gun at the footballer's house.
It is understood the gun is legally owned by the player, who has represented England and is a Premier League regular.

Three unmarked cars, a police van, plain clothes officers and crime scene investigators were at the player's home - a £1.85million property set in more than two acres of woodland - on Monday morning.

A neighbour told The Sun: 'All the main activity was between 9.15am and 9.35am. Three undercover cars and a scenes of crime van arrived.
'As far as I know he lives there with his girlfriend.'

A source said: 'He has been arrested over claims he has had a relationship with a girl aged 14.'

Nothing wrong with WBU fans. I've got multiple widescreen TV's & laptops on the go. Never have issues streaming Man U games anymore

Westisbest Very Happy

Nottingham an Leicester are good nights out. Not as good as Birmingham for me.

My fiancee's family are from east midlands.

To be honest, not bothered about the league game, think we will be safe with ease, given our home games in March/April. I want progression in the cup. Think we will both be happy & sad in equal measure at the end of both games.

Yeah you will be ok league wise.

Would love to win both.

Think could be a draw tomorrow

Baggies will be our hardest team we have faced so far in the cup.
Looking forward to both games.

His comments about if they finish top four it'll be better than last year we're hilarious. He really does talk out his arse does Brendan

Can I agree with both sides of this point? Cos managers say plenty of things in the press that are hard to really take as their actual opinion, but Rodgers is also the king of speaking a lot without saying anything worthwhile. He'd roger himself if he could

That's exactly my point - or 2nd one. None of them say anything worthwhile, except if they are angered, or in Mourinho's case love the attention.
