Really unfortunate with Murtagh's injury keeping him out. The missing link in the seam bowling departmentbrennomac wrote:Jeez kob's bowling has been sh1te today. Ireland's problem is seam bowling apart from Cusack whoo has been excellent

As Mike speculated, McBrine on with the intention of him bowling 4 of the last 8 overs.
And he picks up a wicket straightaway! Shame it wasn't Williams but Ireland will happily accept Ervine's scalp.

Yeah, very disappointing, particularly given how good their fielding has been throughout the earlier games. A couple of very good early catches in this game but otherwise pretty poor with too many misfields and missed run out opportunities

Rather unfortunate for Zim as they'd probably feel they've lost chances against both Pakistan and Ireland now. With a star performer/little more experience with the ball, they could be looking at group qualification.

Always wondered, but never remembered to actually look - does this Irish team mean a composite for both N. Ireland and ROI like the rugby?

yes- but obviously its a very different scenario as they use any one irish qualified- and most play in the english county system- however anyone of them could also play for england and wales if they wanted.
the system in rugby is totally different and they have there own high level teams that compete in europe in the rabbo league and the ex heineken cup.

In the end, much closer than I thought, but there was always too much runs on the board. Sustaining a chase above run a ball is incredibly difficult.

Stunning match, hard luck for Zimbabwe though.

Re: 2015 World Cup
Not really raf... there was only 5 runs in it in the end and with that 6 disallowed (I saw him touch it) it was a highly controversial finish bewteen 2 very evenly matched teams.
However, it is already history. Well done Ireland! They are now in 4th place with 2 tough matches to play.
India should be too strong for them in Hamilton but if they can upset a resurgent Pakistan at AO... now that would be grand!

It was very close wasn't it, as an Irishman, I would say they were very lucky there.

Well, I guess it was!
An interesting point made by Mrs Bat, based on some of her junior school teaching! You don't need to touch something to make it move. Mooney's weight pressing down on the surface a millimetre or so from the boundary edge could have made the tiny indent apparently shown on the foam marker. Not totally convinced in this case but I understand where she's coming from!

Maybe they need touch sensitive "zinger boundary foam" for the next match, Guildford?

They're probably not that useful - you'd still get the reviews upstairs for ones where the fielder goes to flick it back to stop going for a four, and the expense to have them made would be rather a lot!!

Maybe, LD, maybe!
Btw, any chance of rain for either of Ireland's last 2 games? 1 point for a washout would suit them perfectly and guarantee a QF place.

Give me the contract- LED light sensor systems are a huge growing market today(the cost is coming down by the moth, and its something I am getting into.
I will give them a good deal

Its old technology really, been around in machinery (for safety purposes) for more than 20 years. That said, it could be a useful idea to introduce it to boundary ropes but the cost would far outweigh the odd controversial decision I think.

Re: 2015 World Cup
old- but its the price, its falling- i know one contractor that started small and is allready getting 20m turnover work in london of the back. I have only done a few k's work- its all about the control panels- and getting lads trained on it- You might think its old- but its a growing market today, but also quite complex- dependant on what the client wants and how the client wants it - added to the problem of the control systems.
but i cant see any problem with doing it on a boundary rope- thats seems very basic.

Re: 2015 World Cup
It's impossible to be definitive about Mooney's catch of Williams and the replays don't confirm it one way or the other. If Williams hadn't walked have a feeling catch wouldn't have been given and Zim would have gone on to win.
Still al teams need luck and luck was on our side today. Some of the irish bowling was awful and think they'll need to change for the Pakistan game which will be winner take all - think we can assume we will lose to India unfortunately

I have been programming PLC's for 26 years and have used them for the best part of 20 years. Its not difficult to do, agreed, but the cost involved to maintain and transport it from ground to ground might be seen as too expensive. I love the idea myself but feel the logistics involved might be seen as to high.mystiroakey wrote:old- but its the price, its falling- i know one contractor that started small and is allready getting 20m turnover work in london of the back. Hi Guildford. Not Welsh but you are not far off, the name is in honour of a friend who was Welsh but lived in Mexico and sadly passed on a few years back.

Decent. I am on the instal side obviously. The great thing about led is how sturdy it is in comparison to other lighting. But it used to be very expensive.
We know the stystem works with the bails. It would be a very similar scenario with the ropes.
I take it Plc programming works around many different materials and usages. Interesting stuff
