A man in his 20s has been stabbed to death in the Twinbrook area of West Belfast.
The incident happened in Summerhill Park in the early hours of this morning.
He has been named locally as 22-year-old rising boxer Eamonn Magee Jr – son of the former world champion.
A PSNI spokesman confirmed: "Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a man, aged in his 20s, in the Summerhill Park area of West Belfast in the early hours of Saturday, May 30
At this time police are treating this as a murder investigation. There are no further details at this time."
One local said: "Eamonn was a decent lad who ran about with a good crowd so people are really shocked to hear what's happened.
"Apparently the cops are looking for one fella in particular who they think did this. The whole community's just really shocked."
Local councillor Stephen Magennis said: "Sorry to hear that a man has died as a result of a fatal stabbing in Summerhill Twinbrook in the early hours of this morning.
"My thoughts are with his family at this time."
