Lancashire v Surrey - Title Decider?

So the two promoted teams meet at Old Trafford starting tomorrow. Surrey lead the table, but a home victory would see them drop to second. Always nice to go up as D2 champions so both teams would love to secure that title.

How will these teams do next season?

In many ways they are developing along similar lines - building a core of home developed talent supported by experienced recruits. In the main Surrey seem further along the rebuilding process as Lancs only just started, but the sudden arrival of the Currans as genuine talent has really helped the BrownCaps. Sam especially looks a talent. If both can make progress for next season, the Londoners should do well in D1. Lancashire however could struggle. Their young seamers need more time I suspect.

LT - need to remember that Sam Curran is due to be doing his A levels next summer. I would be confident Surrey will do a lot better than last time they were in Div 1, but since they were abysmal in that season that's not saying much.

Erm ... no, probably not. Only if Surrey win with 20+ more points than Lancs. Otherwise, the title goes to the final round of games next week.
