PGA Tour player of the season 2015 - Jordan Spieth or Jason Day

Jordan Spieth - 4 wins (two major wins + two other top 5's in majors) 14 top 10's

Jason Day - 5 wins (one major win + two other top 10's in majors) 10 top 10's

Who for you deserves player of the year? Jason Day who has done something only Tiger and Vijay have done over the last 20 years or so on the PGA Tour in winning 5 times (or more) on tour in the one season OR Jordan Spieth who won back to back majors, and came very close to winning the Open and PGA.

Spieth, No question.

I agree, Jordan Spieth should get it and deservedly so.

It's just I have seen people argue for Day to get it.

I went for Day just because he's elevated his game and finally broken through where Speith has been on an upward trajectory since turning pro.

Can't go wrong with either! Spieth by a nose IMO

if Day wins the Tour Championship, and the fedex bounty, thats 6 wins. Which is a hell of a lot!

Very easy decision. Spieth is 87.46 points ahead in OWGR points gained in 2015.

think its very close. at the moment i would give it to spieth now but a win for day next week to win the fedex and id give it to day

FWIW, Spieth has already clinched the PGA of America's PoY, which is point based.

A. 10 pts for a Regular PGATour win
B. 20 pts for winning the Players
C. 30 pts for winning one of the majors
D. 50 pt bonus for winning two majors
E. 20 pts for leading the money list (18 pts for 2nd, 16 pts for 3rd...etc to 2 pts for 10th place
F. 20 pts for leading the Vardon Stroke Avg (18 pts for 2nd, 16 pts for 3rd...etc to 2 pts for 10th place)

Jordan has 20+0+60+50+20+20 = 170
J-Day has 40+0+30+0+18+18 = 106

Jordan has clinched the money list.  Jason needs to beat Jordan by about 11 shots in the TC to claim the Vardon Trophy.

Hard to ignore Spieth's major performances, and consistently high finishes in regular tournaments.

I'd say Speith
Back to back majors is no mean feat, especially with coming so close in the other two. Plus he has been in good form since April, possibly before, whereas Day has peaked later in the year.

You have to acknowledge Day's achievements though. It tells a story that say end of July if you'd asked anyone if Speith would have a rival for player of the season you'd have been laughed at

I went with Spieth, as 2 majors are better than 1. Helluva season for Jay Day though, always knew he would break through at some point.

Hope Fowler lands a major next year, then we get to see 4 dynamic young players with the ability and the confidence to go toe to toe with anyone in every big tournament.

Last night I heard he has won 22m this season - the most ever - and of course that doesn't include sponsorship income. And he's still only 22. He's just playing for fun / glory now for the rest of his career. Lucky boy!

I'd like to change my vote - Spieth was awesome yesterday, his putting was unbelievable and he's such a lovely kid. So un-typically American.
