Morning people, promo reading tonight. We have had some good qotd too

On the back of that.....qotd - With the level of promos lately, is 6CW entering a golden age for the fed?

Tough one!

In two parts, in terms of matches I've already written, it would have been the JJ vs Cassius Born In Fire match where JJ won the title but then had to retire on the next show. I'm fairly sure that was just a singles match, but obviously it was a feud that had been brewing and even been used on a couple of occassions over two/three years. Then there was all the context to go with it-Zhi taking out JJ's tag partner and then his coach, JJ just losing it on the final Lockdown before BIF and then there was also Brandi and Miss Jessica in the mix which just gave it another different angle.

I'm not necessarily a fan of big gimmick matches, just because they are difficult to write really! But I do think a straight one on one match like that, where it's simply the best man wins, can be just as tense and exciting as if the match were hell in a cell or what not.

Dream match-Going back, I'd have loved the chance to have written Clarke James vs Marshall Murdoch vs Hero for a world title, which was always the plan I had in mind when the COH was going strong. Having just said I hate gimmick matches(!) I'd probably have it as a ladder match, and it would be one of James or Murdoch winning, with them climbing the ladder almost a symbol of them being top dog, looking down on their fallen leader rather than Hero being the god and them the followers. Context of that feud is obviously the COH splintering, I'd have it play out with one of Marshall or James being unsure whether to side with Hero or not, right up to the match where it becomes clear it's every man for himself.

Looking at the current 6CW roster, Wood vs Thunder is one that screams out at me because it's similar to JJ/Cassius in terms of the history. Another would be Adamson and Grace, both would suit the Last Man Standing match gimmick and obviously the context is just the classic one turning their back on the other, and then the animosity and maybe jealousy has been built up over a decent period of time(rather than straight away) until the point where it just simmers over.

I think a lot of us are reaching our peak or are just more experienced now so we are all coming good at the same time, the promo standard has been this high for a long time so it's great to see and to read

Bull's got a mass of potential. When he is on it, his promos are excellent. I hope he is committed to a run here.

According to Paul on the poddy last night, Bull was the one who approached him with the character and a plan and he hasn't shown up

Seen as how Bull hasn't mentioned Scorpion to my memory I'd like to see either Brother Michael take out or 'sacrifice' Scorpion and take his place or Scorpion have some kind of breakdown and slowly morph into Brother Michael like a split personality type run, I think both of those could work

I think it's that long ago, the story was going when I first started which was late 2010. Kind of weird to think I've 'known' people like Dicey & Demon for that long which is longer than some of my 'real life' closest friends

I was saying this to my girlfriend of six years the other day, that it's weird that I've known people on here for 2 or 3 years longer than that.

Do people's mates etc know they do this?

My mates don't have the foggiest in fact nobody I know really does - kinda my hidden secret I guess

I started this a lifetime ago. In fact Adam/Hobo purchased me some babygrows after my daughter was born, she turns 6 this summer!

I don't hide it, I class it as a hobby.

No I've never mentioned it to anyone, it's just a secret guilty pleasure I suppose

I used to save my promo's at the bottom of my CV so that my ex wouldn't stumble across them when she was using my laptop, bloody good job I never sent my CV anywhere in that time though

My wife knows now but didn't for 4 years or so

My girlfriend knows, that was because I was running 6WF and spending a lot more time writing matches, a bit harder to explain. 

She's the only person who does know though. I've not made a huge effort to hide it, but at the same time I wouldn't go out telling people.

I don't think it is anything to be ashamed of. It is a creative writing hobby. The subject matter makes no difference.

RANDOM QOTD: When you,picture your character now to how you did when you started (4 years in my case) do you see them as being older, more wrinkles etc.

I don't For some reason with Faith, he is stuck at 24 but his hairdo etc does change based on trends

Yeah I see Cassius as appropriately aged compared to when he debuted.
I'm sure I aged him in his character sheet for 6CW too.
