England vs Sri Lanka - ODI series

Thought this might deserve a thread with the first match minutes away from starting. England go into this series with the absence of Ben Stokes producing an interesting selection dilemna. Do they pick five bowling options or six? (the latter weakening the batting). If five, 3 seamers + 2 spinners or 4+1?

For the first game at least, they've gone with the five bowling options in 3+2 form. A decision made easier by Bairstow's stunning form with the bat which has demanded inclusion, though Buttler keeps the gloves.

England won the toss and are bowling.

Well looks like they may only need two bowlers at this rate

Huge call to favour Rashid and Plunkett. a few montsh ago noone wouldve batted an eyelid at Jordan being left out, but he came back with some credit in the bank.
Finn .. well its finn. Eithe rbirlliant or rubbish.

Rashid getting a place at all in these conditions...well yeah.
