Roman Reigns Suspended by WWE

WWE has suspended Joe Anoa`i (Roman Reigns) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

Reigns issued a statement on Twitter regarding his suspension:

Personally he should be removed from the Battleground main event, being that they've stated he's violated the wellness policy then it's hardly setting a good example to put him straight back in to a title match.

So basically in reality hes failed it like 7 times.

Unless its being worked into the storyline so Ambrose can call him a cheat/lose faith in him etc.

He probably failed the test last night at Raw

I'm willing to wager he failed the test last week,lost clean as a punishment and can now serve his suspension and be back for Battleground.

I thought initially when I heard the news that this explained why he lost clean, but I don't think WWE would then so prominently use him on Raw and in other marketing materials if that was the case. He must have failed it after Raw. 

I think it would be bad PR if they allow him to keep that main event, it was stupid to book it for Battleground anyway.

Reports suggesting they knew of this before mitb.  That is it might explain why they pulled the trigger on dean  ambrose

It would also mean they they made  the triple threat in knowledge if this. Meaning they would be intending him to go into the match without being there for the build it the draft when they made it

I do agree though they can make s mega heel out of him now. I've always felt sympathy for him. Legitimately trying his best and working into the ground despite huge animosity and the worst creative decisions since Katie Vick

Word is Rollins will be facing HHH at Summerslam which is why the Triple Threat was booked for Battleground

They tried to get him over using the Daniel Bryan plan forgetting Daniel was over before they finally pushed him

They are asking a guy whos never held a single belt anywhere, never had to carry a company and who is still learning his craft to do what experienced guys struggle to do. Hes been exposed by the company and they may have killed any chance of the next big thing being the guy they want him to be

The great thing though is he still gets crowd reaction which they can use, just not in the way they have been trying to push.

Turn him heel. Keep him close to or on the main event scene causing mayhem and let people slowly accept him

If they did know prior, then how far prior?
Because there was clearly a sudden shift in the week prior to MITB with RAW pushing Ambrose and bookies quickly moved from Owens to Ambrose on the odds.

I think its a good policy though. Your champ has to go on the eve of a ppv, well let him drop it that ppv and then serve it.
They must also clearly feel the shield triple threat, as well as their investment in him was worth setting up his next ppv match too.

Id feel angrier that he did this while on top, except i kinda dont blame him with what he has to deal with

Does nothing for WWE for their top stars to be suspended.

They definitely knew before he dropped the title, apart from the 30 day suspension falling almost perfectly to allow him to be back for Battleground you also have to look at the manner in which he dropped it, for me there is no-way they'd have had him drop the belt clean to a heel, even the top heel, no shenanigans what so ever.

That being said I still think losing clean can actually work in Reigns favour long term, it can give him an air of vulnerability and if they hang fire on allowing him to even it up on Rollins then when they finally do it he can get a genuine bump from it, if beating Rollins clean can become elusive then they might finally get that fan sympathy they're desperate for him to get.

It doesnt, but after everything thats happened in the past they cant not suspend him. We've seen countless times that a violation will kill a push and could also kill a career - look at RVD.

I genuinely believe WWE would suspend anyone for a wellness violation, even Cena. I dont blame them for waiting to get the title off him, as long as he serves his time.
