Seems the IBF have banned him from their rankings for a year.

Let's not forget, they divided the B sample into two, sent one half to Cali, the other half to Switzerland.
One came out positive, the other was negative. No prizes for guessing which was which.

The fact that no TV network was picking up the Povetkin v Wilder fight in the first place says it all.
The fight was never going to happen. Look at Vargas for eg, busted with a much higher amount, yet still allowed to fight. Not deemed a serious threat to a US hype job come to mind....

The WBC have become the most hardline governing body with regards to doping, anyone wishing to be ranked by them has to enroll in VADA testing, what happened years ago has no relevance to what they are doing now.

Povetkin has to be clean. Russians are known by their integrity and fair play.

I'm struggling to believe that somehow.

The Russians have been found to be guilty of state run doping on a mass level, the UK and US have not.

The Vargas situation doesn't look good by the WBC in fairness but it has to be remembered that this was Povetkins second doping offence, the first being one they couldn't act on.

Lucien Bute was busted for doping by the WBC against Jack. He coughed up $50k and was allowed to box Alvarez for the WBC silver title. Do you even watch boxing?

Stiverne also failed a test before the povetkin fight but paid off the wbc
