Tough game vs Trebs in what is always a tactical battle. Injuries rob us off Belotti for the 3rd time in 4 weeks
Flat back four we’ll go man for man…if trebs goes one up top then VVD is the man marker and Caldara plays as the 2nd knock defender.

De Rossi is the anchor, he’ll sit and cover for our full-backs can bomb forward, effectively switching us to 3 at the back when in possession. He’ll look to go quick and direct from the QB role, either to our flying full-backs or further up to our wingers.
Alves and Wendell will need to push up high and give us extra width stretch the pitch and drag treb’s boys out of position.

Kessie and Banega are a solid combo backing De Rossi up…both will go box to box as we look to get numbers up field and overwhelm the defence.

The trident is a fluid fast trio, no real positional discipline I want them moving constantly and switching the roles amongst themselves, make themselves hard to pick up and use their pace to burn the Fussball defence.

TACTICS
Looking to pressurise from the first minute, don't let them settle and stretch them, creating overloads out wide.


DEFENSE
Pressurise them high up.
El Shaarawy and Chiesa need to be closed down quickly, first man gets in tight with second covering. Casemiro to drop deep where necessary, just in front of the back four.
Attacking players have the energy to close down higher up, don't allow the likes of Marchisio time on the ball. Press as a unit, including Sanson.


ATTACK
First option should be to look at the counter attack if we can overload 4v3, failing that play patiently, draw their defense out of position.
AM trio in nominal positions but freedom to switch places, being very difficult to mark. 
Focus on the right hand side, Valencia the more aggressive fullback and with a winger to overload them. Try to draw their CBs out wide into areas they don't like.
Casemiro and Sanson to distribute the ball, one sit deep and one advance.
Falcao to lead the line, hold up the ball where necessary and link up the play.

Overall tactics - Look to press high, nab ball off them up the pitch and use our front four to create havoc against a poor defence

Defence - Play with a high line, we have the pace/athleticism at the back and CM to deal with any balls over the top. We're pressing high with our athletes and pace, look to really press CBs/FBs in possession to stop them playing. 

Attack - We're looking to attack with pace and directness. Once the ball is won back, look to get it into the feet of Malcom/Son/Mertens, and as soon as that happens you guys turn and run at the slow defence. Maddison these guys will make great runs so loads of through balls for you to do what you do best. As we're pressing high, should be plenty of opportunities to win the ball back with favourable 3 on 3's etc.

SAS have weak centre so we’re going to own middle of the park to retain possession and stop them starting attacks out wide.



Bartra/Mina/Martinez – SAS speedy front 3 will have no service, so deep line to combat a sprint race they prefer. Outmuscle CF and deal with crosses or balls over the top that SAS will have to rely on.



Trippier/Emerson – Danger will come from wide, so match wingers with speed. Don’t allow them to come inside, let them resort to crosses. With the ball, move forward to make 5 man midfield to aid keeping possession and quick pressing.



Torriera/Goretzka/Dendoncker – Torriera/Dendocker to double team in the centre and press. Look to flanks if dispossessed and help out FB’s.  Goretzka get forward and harass CB’s with Brandt. Look to starve SAS of possession by winning it quickly and playing it forward.



Brandt – Free role. Use pace on knockdowns from Tosun to burst forward unmarked. Take on CB pairing that will be concentrating too much on Tosun.



Tosun – Hold up ball and look for Goretzka/Brandt to play through.  CB’s will start watching Brandt so break free of any marking and convert chances.

Moron today, playing 3-5-2 to congest midfield, use wingbacks to get crosses into the box, their defenders won't know how to react.

Cech, command your area, distribute to midfielders/wingbacks/strikers, watch for long range efforts.

Azpilicueta/Pepe/Hernandez, If they play two strikers mark one each leaving one spare CB, if they play one then Pepe stay on him, Azpilicueta/Hernandez assist the wingbacks and watch for runners from midfield.

Juanfran/Rose, Important roles today, in attack get forward, get crosses into the box for Ibrahimovic/Silva, link with Pastore/Tielemans, without the ball get back to form a back five outside Azpilicueta/Hernandez.

Bender/Tielemans/Pastore, Bender sit in front of the back three and break up play, stop their AM from dictating. Tielemans/Pastore in B2B roles, get forward when in possession but drop back alongside Bender when we lose possession.

Silva/Ibrahimovic, Stay tight to their defenders, if they push up stay on the deepest CB. When the ball goes wide get into the area to meet crosses and get shots in on goal. Link together when you can, work together to create chances.

Free flowing attacking style today. We want to move the ball quickly, hitting Dwarfs hard. 
The attacking will start with playing out from defence into Tolisso who will be able to pull the strings from deep looking to use the options in front
Alba and Zappacosta will be pushing on out wide to provide the width as Robben and Thauvin will be tucking in to support Immobile centrally.
Immobile will be looking to hold the ball up bringing others into play 
Fernandinho will drop off in the attacking phase slightly to help in case we lose the ball.

Defensively we will sit behind the ball as a 5-4-1 with Zappacosta and Alba dropping deep into a 5 back.
Thauvin and Robben will be attacking the ball out wide to try and pounce on the counter
Fernandinho will be protecting the back 5 as an extra looking to retain possession 
Tolisso will be looking to break away with the wide men ASAP

• Laporte pick up the main striker. Nunez pick up any second striker or play spare watching runs from deep.
  
• FBs to pick up the wide players, force them wide and leave the striker isolated
  
• CMs to sit and protect the back four, chasing everything and making a nuisance of yourselves.
  
• Forwards press from the front.
  

Attack

• Reus/Iniesta/Callejon so interchange and work in tandem. Create space for each other and make it hard to mark you. Reus and Callejon get ahead of Jesus
  
• FBs to overlap to provide extra width. Reus/Callejon tuck inside.
  
• Jesus to be our penalty area striker today, get on the end of balls into the box. Occasionally drop deeper, draw out the defence and allow Reus/Callejon to run in beyond.
