Apologies if it's been covered, but I haven't seen anything about this on the boards.

Surely, they knew the date and time of the Champions League Final months ago ?

They didn't know Liverpool would be in it.

Lots of people in Ireland are Liverpool FC fans before they are Pro14 rugby fans. Which is rather ironic given we are told that mega rich owners paying vast sums of money in wages and owning sports clubs is such a terrible thing.

I think he's talking about British fans who have an interest in the soccer thing - Liverpool is one of their cities - near Wales I think.

Are they going to compensate fans who made travel arrangements based on the original time ???

Would be unfair on those people

Yep It's embarrassing the amount of Irish people that support premier league teams.

I think we shouldn't have it on the same weekend. Cuts down on the number of causal fans that will watch it

I don't see why "they didn't know Liverpool would be in it" should come in to it ?
Why would you even contemplate having it on the same time as the Champions League final - as Brendan says it cuts down on the 'casual' sports fans who would watch it. Also as Geoff999 points out there could be people who would have made arrangements based on the current kick off time

Makes perfect sense, as those of us who cant go to the final in Dublin, wont be able to watch it in pubs as they are more likely to be showing the football.

Better still, bring it all forward... Play the Semi Finals mid week next week, say Tuesday evening to allow some time to recover and then the final on the Saturday a week earlier than scheduled. Also has the benefit of allowing those players off on Summer Tours to get an extra weeks rest with the families.

Before the outcry from Leinster fans, simply put out your second string side in the Champions cup this weekend. After all, no one cares about that silly European cup do they.

Everyone's a winner.... Yahoo

Pretty amateurish planning to be honest.
Imagine organizing a cup final that clashes with rugby's premier club competition.

Bloody soccer idiots!!!

They've gotten a lot of things right lately but this was bad planning.
