SURREY VS SUSSEX ROYAL LONDON CUP
Morne Morkel has been named in his first Surrey squad with 15
in contention to face Sussex at the Kia Oval on Tuesday.
Tom Curran has returned from his Indian Premier League spell with Kolkata Knight Riders and is available for selection while Mark Stoneman could also feature after missing out on the England squad for the second Test with Pakistan.
There is no place in the squad for Ryan Patel.
FULL SQUAD:
Rory Burns (captain)
Gareth Batty
Scott Borthwick
Rikki Clarke
Sam Curran
Tom Curran
Jade Dernbach
Ben Foakes
Will Jacks
Stuart Meaker
Morne Morkel
Ollie Pope
Jason Roy
Mark Stoneman
Freddie van den Bergh
We know Meaker and van den Bergh wont play so the other two places maybe Dernbach and Stoneman.
Over to you chaps for the final two spots

Could be Tom Curran in for the absent Elgar and possibly Morkel for Jade although they might just give Dernbach one last chance.

Thanks JimBob and hello Beehive.
It's always difficult to make the call from this distance, especially when we don't know how ready all the returning players are. Anyway, all things being equal, I'll go with JimBob on the 4 to miss out.

Per Stewie - the eleven depends on confirmation it will be a 50 over game (it has been raining) but Stoneman and Morkel both definitely play.

Sussex win toss and with more of the wet stuff about sensibly choose to bowl.
Along with Meaks and Burger, Borthwick and Dernbach miss out.
Sussex include Surrey old lads Evans, Burgess and Jordan. KP-f's man Jofra Archer also plays - looking forward to seeing him although it may be a while as the rain comes down and big covers come on.

Harsh on Borthwick but him coming at 7 was never the best

Yeah. Not good for Surrey as we're playing catch up and need max points. As rained off games go, not too bad a day for me - met up for lunch with Mrs Bat who was lurking around London and went to a useful members' forum with Stewie and Gould early on. I'll put a few bits from the forum on the general Surrey thread shortly.
