And as happened in the last set Isner breaks right back to level at 3-3 in the fourth set. You feel that it is meant to be for Isner today.

Anderson again!!! He produces magnificent shots to break the Isner serve in the fourth and then more awful shot selection sees him broken himself.

Anderson pulls another break from somewhere to lead 5-4. Great guts. But can he serve it out to take the fourth set?

Gee whizz from 40 love up Anderson is pegged back to deuce and finally on his fourth set point he takes it. Two sets all after 3 hours 41 minutes. Anyone's match now.

Yes he can, but only after squandering a 40-0 lead. We're into a fifth. They can play til 11pm on centre, I understand. May need all that time now.

Still on serve in the fifth set at 5-5 with well over four hours played now.

Whichever this way goes though this match is a killer for any remote chance they had in the final.

And a chance for Anderson. He gets to 0-30 on the Isner serve.

Break point for Anderson now 30-40.

Bur Isner puts down a bomb to avoid the break and eventually holds to lead 8-7 after over four and a half hours of play. Great match.

Anderson holds to love and it is 8-8 in a flash.

Isner looks out on his feet but from 40-15 down he hauls it back to deuce on Anderson's serve.

But Anderson brings out two big serves and levels it up at 9-9.

Anderson once more goes to 0-30 on Isner's serve. This is now the longest men's semi-final at Wimbledon in history. Isner again pulls off a lovely touch volley at the net and we are back to 30-30.

And Isner holds to go into a 10-9 lead with 4 hours and 48 minutes played.

Yes McEnroe, tie break in the fifth.

Anderson once more gets to 30-0 on Isner's serve. Isner ace - 15-30.

Another massive serve which Anderson somehow returns for an easy put away 30-30 but Anderson fashions a break point.

Anderson mis-hits on the baseline to return us to deuce. This is followed by an Isner ace and he wins the game with a well controlled passing shot down the line to lead 11-10.

Well played Isner.

Hopefully now he can win this.

With five hours play now on the clock, Anderson looking the livelier and holding with a little more comfort than Isner. He levels at 11-11 dropping just one point in that game.

A much better service game from Isner as he holds to love and edge back ahead 12-11.

Another comfortable hold for Anderson and we are level again at 12-12.

Isner holds to 30 and leads 13-12. Who blinks first or exhaustion KO's them.

No blinking yet. Isner leads 14-13 with around 5 hours 20 minutes played.

Anderson comes through another service game and its 15-15 after five and a half hours of play.

Isner really looks physically shot here but bombs are keeping him going.

But does this game bring in a conversation about bringing in a tie - Break in the final set at say 7 games all?

This game could last at least another half hour,Nadal and Djokovic you can see lasting at least 3 hours. The end of that could be played in a empty court.
And now looks like rain on its way, will need to close the roof. How long does that take?

Certainly. All the logic points to a fifth set tie-break but these final sets to the death do hold a sort of sordid fascination. I think a good idea would be to have a cut off point at around 12-12 in the final set then have a tie-break if they still can't be separated by then.

A swift hold for Anderson and it is 16-16.

Isner holds to lead 17-16 and it is beginning to spit with rain. Drama.

Anderson getting more balls back in play on Isner's serve and gets to 15-30.

I would tend to agree.
Whilst this is holding a fascination, and to me an interest to see who finally breaks. It getting into ridiculous proportions now.
Add in the fact that it's now raining, and the break required to close the roof. You would imagine these facts together will affect the start at least of The next sf. Though my appreciation of Isner has grown massively, as he's looked out of it for a while. Anderson 15-30 up.

Isner pushes a crosscourt forehand wide and Anderson has two break points.

Isner with 2 aces, getting back to 40-40 all, great game Isner to win.

And Isner survives and goes back ahead 18-17.

If play has finished on No 1 court I think they should get Rafa and Novak on there now. And once (if) this match finishes transfer them to Centre Court to play under the lights.

Anderson definitely looking the fresher and more mobile and looks the likeliest to break. He holds to love. 18-18.

If that was the mixed doubles game. It finished about 30 mind ago, Jamie Murray and his partner won.

Anderson holds quite comfortably and it is 19-19.

Just thinking that if Rafa and Novak don't finish tonight will it really be such a disadvantage considering the physical wrecks either of these players will be on Sunday?

As the match moves into its seventh hour Anderson has another comfortable service game to level it up at 20-20.

Listening on 5 live, feel sorry for the commentator. It's his anniversary and he's supposed to going to dinner. But is know late. Mind you love the people saying what they've been doing since the game started. Best so far, someone who was in France and are now near Leeds on the A1.

Isner, to his credit, holds but the tank looks totally empty. Anderson definitely fresher but he just cannot crack Isner's serve.
