Surrey’s overseas players Aaron Finch and Nic Maddinson have both been added to the squad for this week’s Vitality Blast fixtures with Essex Eagles and Sussex Sharks.
Mark Stoneman also joins the squad after missing the opening week defeats to Middlesex and Kent Erm as young wicket keeper Jamie Smith and all-rounder Ryan Patel drop out to play in this week’s Second XI fixture with Hampshire.
Matthew Dunn is also left out and replaced by Stuart Meaker
Jason Roy and Sam curran are on international duty while Tom Curran remains on the treatment table.
FULL SQUAD:
Jade Dernbach (captain)
Gareth Batty
Scott Borthwick
Rory Burns
Rikki Clarke
Aaron Finch
Ben Foakes
Will Jacks
Nic Maddinson
Stuart Meaker
Morne Morkel
Mat Pillans
Ollie Pope
Mark Stoneman
Freddie van den Bergh
Meaker, burger van, Rocky and Borthwick maybe the unlucky ones
Though feel Jacks and Morkel are on borrowed time.
Over to you chaps thumbsup

Cheers, JimBob. Reckon you are on the money there.

You going tomorrow?

Btw, I hear Matt Dunn has picked up a leg injury in the current seconds' match.

Having Finch and Maddinson certainly makes that batting line up look a lot better - albeit not having either Curran is a big miss

Batting order will be interesting, Foakes and Burns have done well enough that we'll be reluctant to move them. Maybe Finch, Burns, Foakes, Maddinson, Pope, Clarke, Jacks as the top 7 but could be pretty much any order.

Or carefully worked out. Wink Well done, JimBob.

Not much back up in the bowling department if any of the main five get carted. Jacks, probably first reserve. Not sure if Mad Dog bowls. I wouldn't want to use Finchy's donkey drops in t20!

Victory vrtually there as I'm heading out now for a beer with the boys / old gits.

Essex were 100/1 off 10 and looking in good shape. Massive credit to Clarke for the 11th over - may have gone largely under the radar but it only went for 3 runs and piled on the pressure enabling Batty to take a couple of wickets in the next over from which Essex never got back in the game.

Spot on Guildford
Wish in a way we could leave morkel out for this format doesn't suit him 2 no balls for over stepping and constant field changes after every ball.
Even though it didn't matter in the end we nearly had six penalty runs added on.

Cracking performance tonight. Remarkable bowling too from Sam Curran. With his two maidens that rockets him up to a total of three T20 maidens in his Surrey career and into second place behind Azhar Mahmood who managed four maidens in his Surrey career. (Batty and Dernbach in their long T20 careers have only managed one each).

Pillans seems to be slotting in nicely into the T20 bowling lineup.
