With two players in the top eleven finishers that were not Fantasy League picks the final round saw lots and lots of points awarded.  Four Fantasy Leaguers had the winner in Franceso Molinari, Six Fantasy Leaguers had one of Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy, and Kevin Kisner, but just two, kouchi and SetupDetermines, combined a 1-2 finish.  Setup also added two sixth placed picks to score the most finish points but he started too far back from kouchi who also added two more scoring picks and the Low Amateur to boot.  AlciG and Super_Realist also had four scoring picks including Molinari and Super also had the Low Amateur.  Davie, GPB, I'm Never Wrong, LadyPutt, McLaren, Sand, SirBenson, and Wiretapper all had three scoring picks; Davie and Sand were the final Fantasy Leaguers to have the Low Amateur.  Eyetoldyouso, Kwinigolfer, and Pedro each had two scoring picks while BlueCoverman and EmmDee57 both had one scoring pick.

The hungover Eddie Pepperell shot 67 for the low round of the day; LadyPutt and Setup earned points here.

Carnoustie seemed open to good scoring and it's reflected in the Fantasy League scoring.  Justin Rose set the pace with a tournament low round of 64 while twelve other players shot 67 or lower to fill out the Top 10 Low Round scores; seven of those were picks.

McLaren had the most picks among the scorers with four.  Davie, kouchi, and Kwinigolfer matched Mac's points haul by having Rose plus two other scoring picks.  AlciG and SirBenson also had three picks score points.  EmmDee57, I'm Never Wrong, Pedro, Sand, SetupDetermines, and Wiretapper all had two picks score: Wire also had Rose as one of his two.  BlueCoverman, GPB, LadyPutt, and Super_Realist all had one pick score points.

In different conditions Tommy Fleetwood shot a superb, bogey free, round of 65 to set an early clubhouse lead.  His round was challenged but never bettered or matched.  His clubhouse lead was bettered by Zach Johnson and Kevin Kisner.  Fleetwood was a popular pick as half of the Fantasy League picked him.

The cut line eventually settled at +3 and some picks made it on the number by the skin of their teeth; I'm looking at you Justin Rose.  LadyPutt and Pedro have the full complement for the weekend and they both had Fleetwood to boot.  They have a sizeable lead over AlciG, Davie, and I'm Never Wrong.  Both AlciG and Davie missed the full set by one pick although AlciG was a little closer.  I'm Never Wrong has seven picks left; BlueCoverman, GPB,  kouchi, SetupDetermines, Super_Realist, and Wiretapper all join INW in having seven picks left.  kouchi and Super both earned two cut bonuses.  McLaren had six picks left while Eyetoldyouso, Kwinigolfer, and Sand all have five picks left.  SirBenson has four picks left while EmmDee57 and TheCleaver both have three picks left.

The race for Low Amateur is over.  Sam Locke had an anxious wait to see if he would make the cut after a round of 73. His closest challenger, Nicolai Hojgaard, slipped with a 76 while Yuxin Lin and Jovan Rebulawere too far back to challenge the cut line.  Davie, kouchi, Sand, and Super_Realist will receive the Low Amateur points  as long as Locke receives the Silver Medal.

Hard and fast conditions made for an interesting opening day at Carnoustie.  The early starters set the pace that some tried to match but ultimately fell away from.  Kevin Kisner posted 66 early in the day and at times it was challenged but never beaten.  Erik Van Rooyen, Tony Finau, and Zander Lombard came the closest to matching it with 67s.  Brandon Stone, Ryan Moore, and Brendan Steele rounded out the top five places after rounds of 68.

Kisner was picked by just one Fantasy Leaguer who just so happened to back him up with Finau.  I'm Never Wrong has the early lead from GPB who also had two picks score.  GPB's picks were Finau and Stone.  Davie, LadyPutt, Pedro, Sand, and WireTapper also picked Stone.  AlciG and Super_Realist both had Finau while Eyetoldyouso and kouchi both selected Van Rooyen.

The race for Low Amateur is very interesting; Nicolai Hojgaard and Sam Locke lead the way, and are well placed, after 72s.  Jovan Rebula and Yuxin Lin are some ways back after rounds of 79 and 80 respectively.

The Open Championship returns to Carnoustie seen as the most difficult course in the Open rotation.  It last hosted the Open in 2007 when Padraig Harrington pipped Sergio Garcia in a playoff and was the scene of significant drama in 1999 as Jean van der Velde spectacularly blew a three shot lead; Paul Lawrie triumphed in the playoff that followed.  Jordan Spieth is the defending champion having taken an age to win at Royal Birkdale.

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

There are four amateurs in the field, idenitfied by (Am) after their name, so we will have a separate pick for Low Amateur. The Low Amateur pick does not have to be one of your Cat C picks unless you so desire.  30 points will be on offer for correctly picking the Low Amateur; if no amateurs make the cut then no points will be awarded.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:
Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Pick 1 amateur identified by (am) after their name.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Failure to submit valid picks: If you do not submit valid picks you will be awarded zero points for each invalid pick.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

In different conditions Tommy Fleetwood shot a superb, bogey free, round of 65 to set an early clubhouse lead.  His round was challenged but never bettered or matched.  His clubhouse lead was bettered by Zach Johnson and Kevin Kisner.  Fleetwood was a popular pick as half of the Fantasy League picked him.

The cut line eventually settled at +3 and some picks made it on the number by the skin of their teeth; I'm looking at you Justin Rose.  LadyPutt and Pedro have the full complement for the weekend and they both had Fleetwood to boot.  They have a sizeable lead over AlciG, Davie, and I'm Never Wrong.  Both AlciG and Davie missed the full set by one pick although AlciG was a little closer.  I'm Never Wrong has seven picks left; BlueCoverman, GPB,  kouchi, SetupDetermines, Super_Realist, and Wiretapper all join INW in having seven picks left.  kouchi and Super both earned two cut bonuses.  McLaren had six picks left while Eyetoldyouso, Kwinigolfer, and Sand all have five picks left.  SirBenson has four picks left while EmmDee57 and TheCleaver both have three picks left.

The race for Low Amateur is over.  Sam Locke had an anxious wait to see if he would make the cut after a round of 73. His closest challenger, Nicolai Hojgaard, slipped with a 76 while Yuxin Lin and Jovan Rebulawere too far back to challenge the cut line.  Davie, kouchi, Sand, and Super_Realist will receive the Low Amateur points  as long as Locke receives the Silver Medal.

Carnoustie seemed open to good scoring and it's reflected in the Fantasy League scoring.  Justin Rose set the pace with a tournament low round of 64 while twelve other players shot 67 or lower to fill out the Top 10 Low Round scores; seven of those were picks.

McLaren had the most picks among the scorers with four.  Davie, kouchi, and Kwinigolfer matched Mac's points haul by having Rose plus two other scoring picks.  AlciG and SirBenson also had three picks score points.  EmmDee57, I'm Never Wrong, Pedro, Sand, SetupDetermines, and Wiretapper all had two picks score: Wire also had Rose as one of his two.  BlueCoverman, GPB, LadyPutt, and Super_Realist all had one pick score points.

With two players in the top eleven finishers that were not Fantasy League picks the final round saw lots and lots of points awarded.  Four Fantasy Leaguers had the winner in Franceso Molinari, Six Fantasy Leaguers had one of Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy, and Kevin Kisner, but just two, kouchi and SetupDetermines, combined a 1-2 finish.  Setup also added two sixth placed picks to score the most finish points but he started too far back from kouchi who also added two more scoring picks and the Low Amateur to boot.  AlciG and Super_Realist also had four scoring picks including Molinari and Super also had the Low Amateur.  Davie, GPB, I'm Never Wrong, LadyPutt, McLaren, Sand, SirBenson, and Wiretapper all had three scoring picks; Davie and Sand were the final Fantasy Leaguers to have the Low Amateur.  Eyetoldyouso, Kwinigolfer, and Pedro each had two scoring picks while BlueCoverman and EmmDee57 both had one scoring pick.
