Asian Tour

I caught the end of the Asian Tour event in South Korea today. Two players went into a sudden death playoff  on the 18th hole. The first two times they played the hole resulted in 3 and 4 putts so the organisers cut a new hole on a flat piece of green. Competition won by a Korean with a birdie after his opponent, a Finn, drove into an deep divot on the fairway.

Was the hole location playing differently from when they played it in regulation?

I didn't see any regulation play so don't know. What I did see was if you weren't below the hole it was almost impossible to stop the ball close to the hole.

Do you remember what the tournament was, or who won it?

There was no Asian Tour event, or Korean Tour event this week.

Not that I don't believe you, but I am looking to see if there is any explanation.

As mentioned I only caught the end and assumed it was live.

Have checked and the event was played on the 5th May and was co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour.
