I'll keep this short, but was just wondering if anyone can think of a time when someones won a match by mistake?

You know like a tables march where the wrong guys gone through the table, and its had to be covered up in real life. Or a battle royal winner whos been eliminated by accident.

I'm sure Hardcore Holly won the Hardcore title one night when Crash was supposed to win it

Wasnt there a match where Ziggler one when the belt suspended fell and he caught it? I think the WWE liked his initative and rewarded him from memory.

It was a controversial one, but I personally think the Sheamus v Cena table match was a botch.
Its when they were on the tunbuckle (from memory) and Cena looked as though he slipped and went through the table.

I'm fairly sure that Shawn Michaels wasn't supposed to beat Bret Hart at Survivor Series 97...

Cena launched himself off the tope rope that night, they'd never have kept the title on Sheamus for 3 months on a botch

Didn't The Miz have to eliminate Cenacle from this years rumble because Riley slipped off the apron and eliminates himself?

I always thought that Earl Hebner had a brief but violent Palsy, meaning he beat the mat 3 times, and VKM had to suffer the consequences....? 🤦

Not quite the same, but I remember watching Billy and Chuck w/Rico against Rikishi and his partner... Rico, for the Tag Titles.

Rikishi superkicked his own partner Rico, Rico fell backwards on top of one of Billy and Chuck, managed to hook the leg and inadvertantly win...

I rememeber Stone Cold was fighting Vince McMahon in a cage match once, and The Big Show - or Paul Wight as they were calling him then - entered the ring and threw Austin at the cage, with the intention of hurting him, but he threw him with so much force that Austin actually broke the cage and fell to the outside - winning the match!

Honestly, that sounds like it was written to go down like that....?

To be fair, it looks like it was meant to go down like that: https://youtu.be/rLmat7vCJ0g

I can remember watching a Hogan vs Flair first blood match from WCW on youtube a while ago, and a few minutes in Flair was bleeding (uncharacteristically...) and they just carried on. I'm pretty sure that isn't the only example of that happening either.

Or maybe I just misunderstand the stipulation of 'first' blood. Perhaps it should be 'most' blood.

Yeah saw that today, You could see Cody asking Ted wtf went on there? Maybe this could lead to some sort of storyline or maybe it was just a one off and they had to finish the match, with Time and all that

I know smash from demolition was playing a Russian in a promtion before he went to WWF and was having a title defence when he tore a muscle in the ring. He knew he'd be out long term, so he let the guy beat him in an upset so not to have the promotions champion injured and create a problem for the company.

Another I can think of was in WCW where Scott Hall was having a match against Chris Jerico and Scott was instructed to win the match but he decided to annoy the booker at the time and had the Jerico kick off the ropes during the razors edge move and pin Scott instead.
